The Orc; Hunter of Trophies, Driller of Walls!
Intro:
Troops that prefer specific targets within a base stand out as arguable the most effective high risk/high reward strategic unit in Clash of Clans. For example, Hog Riders can wipe an entire base if used effectively, but only if the user knows what kind of base to attack and how to path around giant bombs. Lava Hounds have created a monstrous strategy with LaLoonion, which allows the hound not simply to tank air defenses, but also path over potential air bombs.
These troops are in contrast to troops such as pekkas, valkyries, and barbarians who are easily distracted by unessential buildings such as collectors and tend to "shop" or walk around the perimeter of a base until they are shot down. Even if you manage to get them inside a base with wallbreakers, it is uncommon for troops with no attack preference to simply walk outside again or start smacking a random wall.
The solution: The Orc, a unit with health similar to a giant, with speed that rivals a goblin. The Orc carries a battering ram of sorts, with a design similar to that of a dark elixir drill, which it uses to break down walls in its quest to reach the trophies contained in the Town Hall.
J EL, why would we ever make a troop that focuses the town hall?
Yes, this is a troop that has the Town Hall as a priority target which might be seen as "OP". The catch? The Orc has an extremely low DPS. What it does have is x40 damage to walls (adjustable of course), making it not a unit that destroys town halls, but rather a unit that tears down walls and creates a path to the town hall for units such as valkyries and pekkas that tend to get distracted from the main objective.
The Orc has the potential to diversify army compositions by assisting troops such as valkyries and pekkas to reach the core of a base. Also, by having the Town Hall as a preferred target, it adds to high-skill strategic play by making valkyries or pekkas a more viable unit. Also, it opens the doors for the relevance of future units who have no attack preference.
How would I use this unit?
Once the outer wall has been blasted open by wall breakers and the tanks move in, you can deploy the Orc who proceeds to run straight in the direction of the town hall. Walls blocking him/her from its target will be focused by the mighty drill and destroyed in a few seconds, during which time the current compartment should be cleared by damage troops who are ready to follow the Orc further into the base. He has enough health to withstand mortars and wizard towers, but is not invincible.
How would one defend against the Orc?
Because of the relevance of air troops as well as hogs and jump spells, high level walls have lost their value and are arguably more cosmetic than anything for these attack strategies, making valks, barbs, pekkas less viable in comparison. The Orc will make high level walls more of an incentive for preventing a pekka mardi-gras in the core of your base.
What if we make him tankier, possibly middle ground between giants and golems?
The potential for him/her to be a new front line unit is definitely a possibility, but I just imagined it being a little more risky for the reward of a red carpet to the town hall (hence high-skill strategy).
Inb4 "learn how to funnel"
Yes, there are multiple strategies to get your pekkas and valks to the center of a base (jump spells, wall breakers, hero focus) but as is, it is unreliable due to shortcomings of AI. I have seen Pekkas walk into a base, only to change their minds about a target and walk the opposite way towards the perimeter. The Orc would just go straight for the objective and ideally have a mob of valks and pekkas right behind him/her.
What was the inspiration for an Orc? Why not an elephant or something?
I imagined it would be easy for the devs to make, essentially being an altered version of the goblin model. The drill that he/she holds would be an obvious reference to the dark elixir drill. I thought about the idea of some sort of champion or hercules-looking guy who hoards trophies "for glory" which could also be considered. tl;dr: doesnt have to be an Orc.
Thanks for reading! Tell me what you think :)
Great! Just have some questions...
-Would this troop go through one layer of walls? or break through two layers like a wallbreaker? (I feel like one layer would be nice, could add to the extra strategizing of double layered walls, which would be good vs. the orc but bad vs. wallbreakers, could add more thinking.)
-Does it move in a straight line? Would it go straight to the townhall or would it hit the intersections of walls?

-When and how is it unlocked?
-Would it have a certain resistance to infernos? (Multi-infernos would shred orcs) (Fine if it doesn't have a resistance, high lvl gowipers could still use orcs to get through three layers of walls and use a jump spell to let troops hop over the last core line of walls.)
