Looking for any good TH8 guides for using Hogs in war?

Hey, I am about to upgrade my hogs to level 3 tonight when my pekka is done upgrading and am hoping to get them to level 4. I'm not a real fan of GoWiPe in wars and been usually doing Dragloon raids. But I've come across TH9s and weird TH8 anti-air war bases that haven't been working in my favour. So is there any good guides or personal tips to learn the art of hogging at TH8?

Bro Just Use Like 30 Hogs Or Less And The Rest As Many Dragons As You Can.... And 1 Rage And Rest Healing Spells And All You Gotta Do It Take Out All Defenses And All You Gotta Do Is Let The Drags Do WORK... And Drop The Rage Spell When You Think It Would Be Appropriate To Drop It. But Don't You Think Hogs Are A Little To Expensive. You Should Think About Using Baloonion Its Good For Wars Especially TH7 And TH8 Its Really Easy :)

Nah, I'll try 3 heals since they are very effective on keeping the hogs a live then rage spells are. People in my clan say its much more efficient. And balloonions a 2 star strategy, a trophy pushing/dark elixir farming strategy in my books I wouldn't use it in war. Thanks for the help?

Either you're talking to me or him. With someone who thinks TH8 Balloonion is suitable for war it would most likely be him.

If you're referring to me, I thought it was pretty clear from thread I'm a TH8, lol.

Checked out the one hive video, already seen it a couple weeks a go. Rewatched it again for a refresher and it was clearer to find the dgb spots. Now all I gotta wait for is upgrading hogs, fun. Thanks for the pointer to watch the OneHive guide again.

32 lvl 4 hogs, 8 wiz, 4 barbs, 4 archers, if you want lose some clean up troops and add wb, would work better to go for th, you can also carry minnions as clean up troops, in the cc carry 5 more hogs or a dragon. BK lvl 5+

Go for th8's or even low th9's where you can easily lure cc troops, lure them and quickly kill them, fail this and those hogs die.

If you attack a th9, stay away from the AQ, she wrecks hogs, BK is also a problem but not as big of a threat as the AQ

If heroes are in the middle, then do not use hogs

Go for bases with compact defences

Carry 3 lvl 5+ heal spells

Heal hogs when they are near wizards towers, hit giant bombs, or have 65% or lower health

Keep a close eye on hogs to make sure they stay alive and don't die from giant bombs

Drop heals closer to large clusters of defences for maximum effect,

After all heals have been dropped, ignore hogs and place your clean up troops

Funnell king and wizards to the middle to get the th

This can give 2-3 stars when executed properly, im not a fan of hogs for wars because sometimes it fails whereas on trophy pushing they can take out a max th9 with no cc troops and resting heroes. This is the stragety i used for trophy pushing and it was very successful in getting me 2+ stars, most bases i attacked were th9's as a th8, I've never used lvl 3 hogs though so I don't reccomend using them on higher th8's and th9's, only low-mid th8's

Thanks a lot for this personal guide, so you:re saying that I should wait til my hogs are level 4 before I use them on th9s/high leveled 8s? And my heal spell to 5? Anyways thanks again for this great guide.

Your biggest threat are giant bombs, and clan castle so dont send all hogs in, send them in a pack of 6-10. and send 1 hog first to trigger traps and lure out clan castle.

i have seen attacks where they lost 20 hog riders to 2 packed giant bombs instantly or have been rapped by clan castle wizzards.

1 mortar hit+giant bomb will kill them as well.

Vs maxed townhall 8, i recommend having at least level 4 hog riders, they will withstand a giant bomb long enough that u can trigger the heal spell in time

Good tips, I learned to use a hog or two as the sacrificial lamb from past experiences that had my hogs turned into fried pork when I was town hall 7 and took on a rushed town hall 8 with hogs.

Thanks for the advice bud, I'm planning to use my hogs once I get them to level 4 in 10 days and my heal spell to 5. Probably by easter I'll get my hogs good to go for war attacks!
