Needed Forum Improvements

As many people who regularly browse the forums would know, there is a ridiculous amount of worthless posts, mostly ruled out ideas. I think there should be a mandatory pop up or tutorial to read if you have under a certain amount of posts (5?, 10?, 25?, 50?) to limit the amount of worthless topics. These garbage threads take up room for legitimate ideas that contribute to the game, especially with the shear volume of new threads each day. In a few hours a new thread can be on the 2nd page. There could also to something like a strike or warning system that would temporarily ban a person that has made multiple infractions to the new poster rule.

These worthless threads almost exclusively come from younger people (>15) but honestly, I don't blame them because most people just don't know forum etiquette. The solution could as simple as having the ruled out thread pop up before a new member starts a new topic. Thanks for reading and be sure to give me your opinion or if you disagree or not.

If a thread is really good, it will catch the attention of many people. Some people will even bump another person's idea just so others can see it, worthless ideas fade away so this is not needed

Do you not find it irritating that two thirds of the threads on the "ideas and suggestions" sub forum are ruled out ideas? Which contribute literally nothing to the community or game.

Yes I do find it irritating, but there's nothing we can do, everyone has a right to speak and express their opinion, they want to voice an idea they have to change the game but usually it would mess it up without them knowing, but even though, like I mentioned, good ideas will recieve support no matter how many bad threads block it out, and SC will see all the threads no matter what, no need to worry.

My idea isn't to try to tell what people can and cannot post, (well it kind of is) it's to inform people that there is a wealth of ideas already ruled out, and that people have already thought of. Most new members simply don't know there is a "ruled out" sticky.

I find it annoying that people don't read what is right in front of them. :smirk:

My answer to OP is right there in my posts. I've only known about and worked on the issue off and on for months now. And I can't bring myself to explain, yet, why thier post count limit idea won't work.

Yes true but it is our job to direct them to stickies, I had to do this twice in the past 2 minutes, it's a little annoying, but it helps the forums, plus if you haven't noticed, threads with ruled out ideas are usually pushed away, it's just that 60% of the people new keep requesting it that we notice all these bad ideas, so no need to worry

I actually had a quite good laugh about how ironic my post is now that you mention it. Although I would of found your post if it wasn't buried under the mountain of ruled out spam haha.
