I should read before posting? I don't see a hundred post here that say this is a bad idea? Actually no one has said it's a bad idea. Perhaps you should go back a few pages and read before posting. Or even better. Don't post here if you have no constructive criticism other than "this is pointless.":thumbsup::smirk:

Will I defend my TH for 45k or 95k gold/elix instead of a shield? No, not ever. If 95k gain is below a normal standard to attack a base; who would defend for the same reason?
Good idea, however add a dark elixir reward (e.g. 450 dark elixir).
Let's do some quick math here. I have 7 Elixir Drills and Gold Mines at 3,500 per hour. That is:
294,000 Gold and Elixir I get for a 12 hour shield
I have 3 DE Drills at 45 per hour. That is:
1,620 DE for my 12 hour shield.
So if people were looking at this "problem" economically, it would take, at least, an equivalent of 294,000 of each back from attacks they could have avoided by having their TH exposed and taking the shield. On top of this, when we are raided, we are losing some loot each time.
I just don't see a way that having a defensive bonus is going to encourage anyone to allow more attacks unless it is a ridiculously high amount of money for a successful defense, which will have people attacking to get rid of their shields so they can get attacked again (as opposed to drawing weak attacks as they are currently doing).
There is no good way to make defense as viable as offence without changing the entire point of the game, and as I have said, why not just let defense be what defense is and always has been in every game, sport or war; a means to protect something, not to gain something.
