Its an interesting and creative idea. If SC is ever looking for a new dark troop this is worth being looked at as one of the possibilities.
I do not think you should be agonizing over getting feedback from SC. They have seen it already no doubt and its more within their polices they not discuss what their plans might be.
At this point with all the views and 51 pages of comments and a huge number of views there is no need to keep soliciting support or trying to get guys to bump it. Know that you did a good job. (you really did too) Know that good job has been seen by SC. Now just sit back and see what comes of it.

I know they have probably seen it, but I would even like to know if a Supercell staff member has even viewed your idea, so you actually know it might be worthy. I made a suggestion a while back on that, but you know, it...gets buried.

Wow, this is a reallly big change! I like it too! This will be the first troop to ever be able to change speeds, too. Very unique.

I'll admit this isn't so bad but you should make it called something other than a Mage(too wizardry) how would this work for defense?

Anyway, since this is the last troop unlocked that means it would be the last troop to come out of the Clan Castle. If the troops come before it, as always, the VM will match the speed of the highest-damaging unit, and give them a damage boost (though it won't be as effective against troops) And if there's no other troops, he would use his default speed of 18.

I think this would make the troop too OP, and I don't want to make it similar to any other troop. It would also be very weird on defense. But if you would like, I had an idea. When he dies, he could release a lava blast and make all buildings in that range take more damage from troops? Idk, just an idea.
What about he can summon huge kittens that 3 star the base?

The VM should have about 10 less hit points. Or maybe 10 extra DPS....
I think The VM is kind of OP so they should add a kind of OP defense to combat it(but not too OP to completely nerf the VM)
also so they should make a new town hall(they haven't for like 2 or 3 years) Check out my ideas in my sig for new town hall+bonus storyline. The VM could be a hero? Just an idea.
Before you suggested I increased the HP, yet now you're suggesting I keep it the same. I do however think it would be a good idea to lower the HP now that I have made this troop somewhat OP. :p
I do not want to increase the damage of the VM due to the fact that this is merely a support troop and I think he already does somewhat excessive damage at maximum level.

Please don't advertise your ideas on my thread :) But also, I do NOT want this to be a hero. I am strongly against the ideas of adding a new hero and a Town Hall 11. I think if they keep adding things to the current Town Halls, it will be good.
I do not think a defense should be made specifically to nerf the VM. I was thinking probably Mortar level 9 (since the VM will only follow ground troops and he can easily be caught in splash defenses).
I think it's a good idea, but lava is getting old with the lava hounds

Note that Supercell could change the theme whenever they want, but only the Lava Hound troop uses lava and it really has nothing to with lava.

First part, Why not? Supercell hasn't added a new th in like 2-3 years. Goblin lord would not imbalance the game if you do it the way I suggested in my sig.
2nd part, the defense would not specifically nerf the VM but kind of"control" it lets say. Like a splitter trap. Send troops to far corners of map etc. maybe even ice tower(to combat Mage) ice tower reduces damage done by any troops hit by ice etc.
Whenever I see this thread, I think of a red wizard with a volcano hat XD:smirk:

It's not a rage spell at all, it does not affect speed, nor do as much damage boost. The VM also does a little bit of damage on its own, and makes buildings take more damage, not make troops do more damage.
And yes, every troop is OP until a new defensive level is added. In this case, to balance the VM out I simply think they should increase the damage of X Bow level 4 drastically, AS WELL AS the damage of Wizard level 6. Yes, this would improve offense more still, but keep in mind it would be even more deadly on defense.
Nice work Anthony, i think supercell likes this idea.

You should make the troop only follow the source of troops in the case of Witches, Golems and Lava Hounds..

I do agree. I would have to say the Volcano Mage would only follow the Golemites, and Skeletons if they are the only "troop" left. This is because the Volcano Mage already does not follow air troops (ruling out Lava Pups) and Skeletons are continuously made by the Witch, possibly getting confusing.
I'll add this in to the OP: The Volcano Mage will follow Golemites, but Skeletons will be last priority. However, if a Hog Rider is on the other side of the base and the Skeleton is closer, I am not sure how that would work. Suggestions would be great.

I like this idea. However, I personally would not allow the Mage to drop a mini rage spell upon death.
I reckon this could make this troop a little OP as the damage increase death by other troops (due to the Mage) is enough as it is.

Thank you for your support, however I hope you do realize that both of the things you asked for in your response are already there. The volcano Mage does not have a rage spell upon death, and he is already unlocked at town hall 10.

Great idea! Like most I don't think that the "Mage" is a good name. I liked how much detail you put in this!
That would normally be a good idea, but sense the Volcano Mage will follow any troop (including the Valkyrie and Wizard) I thought adding splash damage as a component might help them get rid of Clan Castle troops quicker.

Just a quick fix as i didn't see this in your thread, but if i missed it, my bad. You might wanna add if everything but the volcano mage(s) die, then they will start acting as an any target-ranged troop would. Also, i like the concept of this troop, good work!

Drop the LVL3 bonus to 80%. That way it can get more lvl's before you get 100%.

This is a great idea and may be the most well done idea thread I have seen. Will there be a picture of the volcano mage at any point?
I think it would be better for each mage to do a small amount of damage increase (i.e. 20%) and have them stack in damage increase. Otherwise, it is completely useless to have more than one mage.

Well, why have lvl 2 be availble at lvl 7 lab if its unlocked at TH10? Just have lvl 2 be at lvl 8 lab. You shouldn't be having a lvl 7 lab at TH10 unless theyre brand new, so don't give them that "advantage"
15 Minutes, 14 Housing space for a troop with 200 health maxed is to much i think.
