Why is Cheap Wheat so Popular?

I'm just curious about why people buy up so much wheat. I plant a lot of wheat for the experience and to find building materials. Because I plant literally hundreds within 10 minutes at a time. I fill up my stalls with 10 wheats for 1 coin so I can sell it off quickly to make room in my silo. Within 2 minutes after advertising, one or two people will stop by and buy up all of my wheat. Some players have even made it a ritual by coming back every 5 minutes to buy more wheat I have put up for sale.

So why is wheat such a popular commodity and why do they buy so many? It only takes 2 minutes to produce. At first, I thought maybe they don't have any available plots but when I visit their farm, I see that they have plenty of available plots.

I do the same and often have the same 1 person buying it all (10wheat 1coin) and then selling it for 20coins in their shop, they seem to sell it too somehow so whatever, good luck to them, i just need rid of it!

It's always confused me too, it's so easy to make and the profit from re-selling it is almost non existent to anyone over level 5 yet even higher level players buy it, I'm the same tho I can fill the shop up with it and sell it almost instantly as many times as I can be bothered in a day, it's a mystery why anyone would buy so much....

I don't understand it also but instead of wanting to understand it, be glad that they do buy it this quickly. If it doesn't move until Greg buys you have you stand filled for the entire day and can't produce any more wheat and therefore not getting as much xp or the good stuff.

Maybe it's just people being kind of lazy when it comes to doing the actual farming. For example I have read many replies from lots of people suggesting we need some place to advertise what we need instead of having to search the newspaper all the time. With that last bit they kind of admit they're being lazy. Then I start to think that this idea wouldn't work. Because people who are generally lazy are not going to search for someone looking for the stuff they want to sell. They just sell it in their stand and run an ad.

Regardless it is wheat or other farmables, these are the basic materials to make items.

wheat has the highest output available, which mean, there are alot of items can be make using wheat.

the theory whereby time vs space come in. If you are patient, you can sell at max price. But if you are limited to shop slots, selling cheap is one of the ways to keep the game going.

Not all people who have requested a place to advertise needs are lazy. It's just that most of the time there is nothing in the paper except bacon and eggs or eggs! I look through the paper all the time.

I can't see these people making a lot of money from buying and selling wheat. I don't get it either. Gotta go now, off to grow some wheat to sell cheap!

Omg! I just tried it and it was all gone in a couple of minutes, and I didn't even advertise it! ♥♥♥?

The high end players don't want to waste time growing crops or making food so they prefer to buy it instead.
