Lava Hound deals splash damage, before exploding into a large circle of (8, 10 or 12) Lava Pups. The Lava Hound does this when it dies.
Yes, it should also do this when manually triggered.
Should each lava hound be manually triggered, or trigger all remaining lava hounds simultaneously? I think tigger all simultaneously. That way is easiest for the battle interface, where you have one symbol for the hounds that is clickable, just like the heroes.
You would technically only be able to trigger exploding into pups after all hounds were launched, because it would be the same button to launch as to trigger. The trigger should have a short deadtime after a launch to prevent accidental triggering immediately after launching several hounds (boy would that be bad).
You would want to trigger conversion to pups at mopping up time, after all air defense, or virtually all air defenses, are taken out. The many pups do way more damage, but are way more vunerable.
You might want to trigger conversion to pups early to have them attack clan castle troops. Don't know if it would ever be a good idea, but should be an option.
There are a few was you could do it, each lava hound has it's own spot on the bar so you can explode them individually. Released lava hounds could have a seperate spot from non-released, to explode all released ones at the same time. Released lava hounds could have their own spot and clicking it explodes only the lowest hp hound.
My thinking is that the number of occassions where you have multiple surviving hounds, and you want to trigger one but not another, are so few as to not justify the the complexity to the interface that the option requires.
For complexity sake, we don't want multiple tabs at the bottom of the battle, each corresponding to a different hound.
Clicking the hound itself on screen? I can imagine meaning to use a spell, but instead exploding a hound. It could be dangerous.
Exploding one at a time by lowest hp? Maybe, but I would think that given two hounds, one you want triggered, the other not, it would be just by chance that the one you want triggered has the lower hp. Better to trigger by touching the hound itself.
No, I think that when you have destroyed the ADs, ATs, and WTs, and it is mopping up time, you would want to trigger all simultaneously. Usually at this point, you would be lucky to have a single surviving hound.
Important questions: How many people, how often, have wished that they could manually trigger one lava hound? More than one lava hound? Selected lava hounds from multiple?
I say no to this idea.
If you can't time a raid to 3 stars, you don't deserve the 3 star.
This is the same deal with threads complaining about hogs being killed by AQ after defenses are down.
Long story short:
Bring enough clean-up troops. Period.
They should change the name of this forum to:
Ideas and feature requests, and a few people offering actual constructive ways to improve your ideas, and a bunch of people who just like to call your ideas stupid and say ♥♥♥♥♥♥ed stuff to fill up the thread with meaningless posts that would have been better off written on a piece of paper, eaten by a monkey, then once deficated by said monkey thrown back at those people...
While I still very much like the idea of being able to manually trigger lava hound explosions, even a rare as it is likely to be used, hesto25 makes a valid point. Throwing in an excess laval hound to explode near the end is much like keeping minions for the cleanup.
