Defensive Win loot

I know I have read this before but I never gave it much thought - until now. Bottom line - I would like to see the win loot bonus go to the defender if they win.

Why? I am a nearly max TH9 and I have been hanging around around G2. Loot has not been great but its not bad either. Decent. I finally decided to go for Masters having never been above C2 before. I finally got there this morning and here is my observation.

In Master 3 and Crystal 1:

• In all my searches more than 90% of all bases shown to me are TH10s. Maybe if I was better I could successfully raid these but for now I cant beat these. And maybe I could get 50% if I used gowipe or something but armies like that take a long time and cost more than loot I am seeing at 99% of the bases up here. Which brings me to...
• Very few bases I am seeing have more than 50k each. Most have much less. Even my cheap army costs more than is available. So - there isnt any loot to be had that I see.
• My defenses have been doing well. Its mostly TH10s attacking me but I have managed to win more than lose. However - to get these wins they are tripping most of my traps. Its been costing me over 100k gold and nearly 100k elixir to rearm after each defense.
• I do love the more challenging bases up here though. More fun on both sides (def and raids).

So - I am here. And I am not going to go to Champs until I am deep into TH10 and have better troops/spells etc.

So - should I stay in Masters? I am literally losing loot staying here between whats raided and what it costs to rearm. Look - I am NOT complaining about being raided or the cost to rearm. Its part of the game and I am ok with it.

I am just saying - it costs a heck of a lot of stay up here for me and I now understand when people have requested this before maybe where they were coming from. If the attacking winner can be granted a win bonus why not the defending winner?

What am I missing here on why its costing more more than I am making? Again - I am not trying to complain. Just saying I get why a defensive win maybe could get a bonus too. At least to offset the cost of rearming would help a lot.

Thats what I have been too and hence why I never really pushed before. But when you are pushing you want the Def wins. And I have been fortunate to get a fair amount. But the rearm cost coupled with not really finding or getting any loot this high - just makes me wonder whats the incentive to stay this high? I would love to stay in Masters - I just dont see any economical sense to it.

this is not a good idea. the idea behind the game is to attack others. If I sit back and win loot for my defense, I'm not making the effort to earn the loot that re-arms my traps and weapons. Essentially, I can most likely never attack and make more money using less effort in the game.

Here's how I would exploit it. I would have my TH 9 defense, nearly maxed, and go down to the bronze league. I would place my DE storage outside the walls. Let people take it. Lower TH cannot win against my defense, so I win loot. I do that for a good week and get my storages maxed because I don't have to do anything at all.

I would suspect that this is a ruled out idea. This would not make the game fun for me.

Since the defensive win bonus is tied to league you would be making 1000 of each in bronze, good luck filling your stores.

Even in gold you are making at most 14k of each. In crystal/masters the win bonus would increase but so would the chance of someone beating your base.

I do like this idea and would give incentive to move my townhall inside. Even when pushing I keep it out generally.

I see your point and they are good points. But I still think the economy at Masters (and I assume champs) is off.

the fact that the exploit is there makes this a bad idea. If I win 1k per win overnight and I'm attacked once every 5 minutes, thats 96K over 8 hours. And that is at the low end. Take the top players and put them in the gold league where they still dominate in defense. Now you are taking 1.3 million overnight.

This is still a bad idea no matter how much you try to sugar coat it. It discourages attacking which will cause SC to lose money.

In my opinion, I think it's because we can buy walls with elixir. I think that should never have been introduced.

yes you could abuse this as the way suggested. You could simply give a bonus equal to the amount of cost for the traps used. so leets say someone attacks you and you would have a traps reset amount of 2800G. Your bonus for the win would be 2800G.
This would be only for traps as I don't think you should get any money to refill an x-bow or inferno tower. I would say that is a fair trade.
This would help keep it from being abused as there is no real value of getting trap money back.
However you lose and you still get nothing.

I've been thinking about the issue with defence for a good while now; and getting loot back after being raided has always felt more than a little awkward. So I've been working on ways to give something as good, or better, than the value of the resources that was lost. I've got several threads on the issue, and I'm not about to post them all, since that'd be awkward too. There is one revived thread that is up now, as well as several others that can be found on my profile by looking at the (huge) list of created threads (usually with the key word of 'defence')

I can understand the loot reward for defending, happens with tower defence games and others, but we can't have 'magically materializing money' manifesting at both ends of the game. As important defence is on an attack game, we can't just give loot to both sides. So I have been thinking of bonuses to defence, and if raided, bonuses to attacking back, both kinds of bonuses are not resources, but one helps preserve resources, while the other help get loot back easier.

Anyway, browse around, and be open minded to having more than just loot as a defence reward. Also, why are trophies not mentioned as a reward? Because they aren't. :smirk: Well, they are a reward, but for most developing villages, only getting cups as a reward is like getting gold stickers for good grades... except that they can count against you as you are now a step closer to other bases that can raid you with even stronger troops. That's not too great a reward, now is it...

Exactly. That is why my recent twist on the topic rewarded the defense with mitigated loss instead of gain. Go back and check your old thread man. Mull it over and see what you think.
