Rebalance Town Hall 7

Hello all.

Problem: Town hall 7 is vastly unbalanced. As it stands TH7 is when Dragons are first able to be unlocked from the barracks. Town hall 7 has Army Camps that can hold 200. Dragons can be upgraded to level 2. There is a max of 2 air defense, 2 teslas, 4 archer towers.

Air Defense - Max Level 5
Archer Tower - Max Level 8
Tesla - Max Level 3

Between the defenses there is no combination that can stop an army of Dragons. Even dragons at level 1. All that is simply required is 3 lightning spells to one of the Air Defense, then simply unload the dragons. There is no skill or strategy. The dragons can be unleashed on any part of the map.

My Suggestions: Allow a third air defense to be unlocked at Town hall 7. Maybe cap it possibly at level 4 instead of 5. But something needs to be done. In almost every war I've been in my clan and the other clan clean up all TH7's. It's almost a waste of time and resources since both sides clean up all of the bases anyways.

In conclusion. It's too simple to attack TH 7's. A brain dead monkey could do it. I understand it's hard to make the game balanced at all levels so that everyone is happy. But this seems too easy.

I'm currently Town hall 9. So this doesn't affect me per se. But it does affect people in my clan and other people's clan every war. I just think it should require some degree of effort to get a 3 star.

Doesn't affect you so why do you care? You do realize townhall 7's are the baby townhalls right? And yeah 1 lighting and it goes down. You can do the same thing on a townhall 8 with uneven air defenses. And still get a 3 star. Even if you did add another air defense. You're adding 2 air defenses (which is stupid.) and nothing for townhall 8 now. So townhall 8 will have 0 new air defenses.

Lets just shut up with these drag post. They're doing their jobs. If you feel a army of fire breathing Dragons shouldnt lay waste to a village with 2 wizards, 4 archer towers, 2 (even 3) air defenses. Then don't play.

Well it affects my clan and the wars in which my clan participates. I realize TH7 are babies... But I don't think TH7's should be able to lay waste to other TH 7's with no thought or logic that goes into their attack. At level 6 you can't wipe out another level 6 without some kind of thought out strategy and well time troop placement and well timed spells.

This is true at Level 8 as well. Even a mass dragon attack at level 8 doesn't always work unless the spells are well timed and the dragons are placed in the right spot. Townhall 7 is the only town hall - other than the very early stages of the game where it can be itself with a brain dead strategy. And I think this should be changed so that you have to "sort of" plan a strategy. It shouldn't be impossible to get 3 stars with a dragon attack, but it should be harder than simply dropping them on the map, setting your phone down, and coming back 2 minutes later to see that you won.

I agree it's stupid. But it's just how it is. Im sure you agree the Heros do stupid things. But so do drags. And Adding an extra air defense won't help any. I'm a max 7. And have been for a little now. All drags with lighting as you said will lay waste to me. I'm not complaint because I do the same thing. The simple thing is; the mortars will wreck any ground troop 90% the time. Level 4 troops hardly stand a chance and i've never been 3 stared by a level 4 troop as a townhall 7. So by getting rid of drags; it'll be pointless.

A nee new air defense would just kill a lot of air raids. I agree drags are over powered. But I'm not sure if there will ever be a solution to this.

This could be a suggestion for a different thread.. But perhaps allowing defenses to have specialties. For example maybe the specialty you choose for your archer tower is to be more effective against dragons, but less effective against barbarians.. (Just example - could be wizards or whatever). So now your archer tower does 2x damage to dragons... Just a thought?

I had a similar idea with my wizard tower thread towards balloons and i got mixed feedback on that. I don't think its the best route to go. I think a better solution would just to be let the game be how it is.

I do like the game.. And once the 5 guys in my clan move past TH7 in 4 months it won't be a problem for us any more, but the problem will still exist, and I don't think the best way to deal with a problem is to just do nothing. Not that my solution is the best by any means, but I do believe something should be done.

This is definitely not the first time i heard that an army of dragons can lay waste to any town hall 7. I haven't gotten to town hall 7 yet, but if this is true it should be changed. Likewise, if what GanjaSandwich said is true and ground troops get destroyed every time, this should also be changed. Ground troops never being successful and dragons always being successful no matter what the enemy defense is for a Town Hall 7 base is NOT balanced and should be changed.

EDIT: If it is inevitable for a dragon-only raid to 3-star a TH7 base every time, not only is that not balanced, its just plain stupid. Totally disagree on leaving that the way it is. Perhaps the max number of dragons in an army camp could be capped to 3 for Town Hall 7?

No one stays at th 7 long enough for this change.

It's not a question of people staying at TH7 for any length of time. it's an issue that an attack is too strong and needs to be fixed. I have no problem with people using dragons to get 3 stars, but you shouldn't be able to deploy them with 0 strategy.
