I am greatly support this idea.
This is ruled out and there are a ton of posts about it- u even linked one.
I think you can use to shed light: town hall (especially at high levels), deposits and elixirs extractors (making fluorescent) and gold (giving it extra shine). Similarly you could use the stone of the wizard's tower.
There are also walls and "production animations"of barracks, spell's factory and laboratory.
Finally the camps, always, do light and alla decorazione can be used to make other lights.
Also, some structure's attacks (tesla) and spells can shed some light.
Sorry for my bad english, but I think that could be really cool.
