What irks me about filling Boat crates

Requesting help with easy (or difficult, doesn't matter) crates will not take your points or voucher. I think the better way to put it the way I see it: Yes, absolutely, there's no reason not to open cream boats for help, but if most of the time your friends can't help and can't fill the crates anyway, it is much more 'cooperative' to open easy and doable crates for your friends. This is the more important point Grumbul was making....

And I think I am repeating myself that, if the player doesn't care about their boats, but I do, and I want to open easy crates for my friends but they don't care enough to, and I play the way I like and they play the way they like, then there is no reason to play together. :)

funny you should think that way! sometimes you have to understand that many people are anxious about the boat orders. for myself, the moment i find out what the next shipment is, i will prepare in advance but for certain ones (like cherries when i haven't bought any cherry tree), i will flag for help immediately the moment the boat arrives. i know i will not buy cherries off the stand as i'll be suffering a loss so there's no point waiting to 'try my best' to fill it then ask for help.

on the contrary, i leave the difficult crates to others because there ARE people who've got the stuff. i was amazed when someone actually filled 3 crates of 9 syrups for me at a go. which means they've already got the items on hand so i'm not guilty about it. its a win-win situation so why not?

Hmm

Could maybe be though life got hectic and they intended to fill the crates and couldn't make it back into the game because something happened. Unless its a repeated thing?

Thanks for clarifying my point! I meant that i like to occasionally open easy crates for neighbors, just as a nice gesture.

I do wish that people would not open 3 crates of sugar or cream, though. I think some people don't know they can send them away, but I get a little tired of going through the list of people who need help and finding that most of them are sugar or cream. I know you say to just play with the people that play like you, but I don't want to unfriend people without telling them why, and unless I know their supercell "name", I don't know any way to do that.

I also wish there was some way to communicate with all the HayDay players out there who don't know about all this content via Supercell: forums, private messaging, etc. There are players (I was one) who aren't aware of GameCenter, and who think the only way to have friends is through Facebook. I suppose SC get a kickback from FB for that, but it's irritating when you discover that there are these pieces that you've been missing all along.

Do you suppose if enough people would boycott sugar/dairy boats, SC would find a way to stop them?

Actually like a normal person I give quite a bit of tolerance to my own rule. :) I don't go immediately delete every friend who opens all cream and sugar. Just those who do it pretty frequently, every chance I have to check the game I see them asking for sugar, again.

But I don't really give too much bother about feeling bad deleting friends. I know, a bit harsh, perhaps, but I have a bit too many already and my GC app keeps crashing when you get over 300 or 350. And I refuse to use FB to add friends.

I actually found the GC thing because so many farms I visit on DD said GC. I had no idea what GC Meant so I googled it. Many friends have put go to forum for captain! Or google HD forum 4 help! as farm title. Don't know if that helps.

I also agree it's very irritating to find there are missing pieces all along. I have a friend who didn't know how to send away boats empty until she reached level 50? 60? I'm also following a high level player with 5 stalls only, level 72 and 5 stalls. I try to change my farm name just for her but don't know if she bothers to look at her followers.

For the people here who say they are more relaxed about it: the reason why I have this rule is because it made me feel more relaxed in my own game play. I go about the forum blabbering on about it precisely because people don't know about sending away boats empty.

So they'd see my signature below and learn about this thing which I didn't know till I came to the forums. I also found that the less sugar boats you do the less you will get them. Not sure if it is true but I got less of them after sending a few away.

I don't know if SC will ever get rid of sugar boats completely. It seems some people are not too fussed about filling them. Think the game will be too easy then? Then we would have people running on here complaining about jam boats....

I think it's just common sense or logic. If the other crates are easy, perhaps the person are just scouring those things. E.g: hats, sweaters, fruits, produce. You know the Hay Day programming language sets it so that when you need the items, they will disappear completely from the market.
If you happen to have spares & don't mind filling, then just fill it. If you think it will just be wasted since the boat probably won't sail away, then don't.
I am also a bit picky in helping others, especially in rare items like cakes or jams. But when it will give me 3 LB points, I won't hesitate filling it! ;)

Ummm not sure about the programming language... I don't think it is set that you can't find something you need from the DD. I am sure a mod will be able to confirm this.

I am not so sure it's nice to prefer to fill those cake and jam crates when it gives you 3 points.

I can see that this flawed wheel point system encourages this rather UN-neighbourly behaviour.
But I fill all cake and jam crates if I have in stock. especially when others haven't gotten to it yet and the boat is leaving in a few hours rather than 16....

It's a finished product, won't use in other machines. So I help.

♥♥♥♥ I know what P1nky means but it's not prog language it's called Sod's Law - my next boat needs chilli popcorn and plain popcorn - I'm producing the plain right now like mad but I bet ya I can't find ANY of the chilli variety either in friends stalls or the DD...even tho' yesterday there was a mountain of the stuff! :D

Lol!! Thought it was called Murphy's law... Where things will happen when you least expect or least want it to happen?

I'm making chilli right now and selling as soon as I make, check my stall:)

edit: just saw the link, think both are the same: Murphy's law is American and Sod's law is used in UK. Showing my upbringing here cough cough....

Thanks Swiss, my boat will be a while yet but I'll jkeep peeping at yer stall - btw Murphy was a real guy, I listened to a podcast about him a while back (Stuff You Should Know - just to give a shameless plug to a great podcast) and his law was summat like - 'anything that can go wrong WILL go wrong' hehe. Sod's Law is hugely similar - I have no idea which came first tho...gonna make that my 'useless knowledge mission' today ;)

EDIT: SEE!! I just went to check your stall there and I bought your damn blackberry muffins by accident!! Curse this cheap, sticky stylus!!

EDIT#2: Oh just found a pile of Chilli Popcorn in the DD...ermm..I bet it'll be the Plain Popcorn I get hung up on then...*facepalm*
