An idea that came out of clan chat is for a new defensive structure - the Lightning Rod. It can be attached to any resource structure, upgraded & rearmed after use. And the way it works is that when someone tries to snipe your resources, esp DE, with lightning spells your lightning rod absorbs damage & reduces the loss.
Main reason for this is that it is so tough to build up DE & there is currently no defense from a lightning spell.
