GoWiPe For Town hall 8

Can't say I agree that it is limited to a 2 star strategy as th8. Used go wipe in clan wars the better part of my days at th8, after figuring out what I was doing and recognizing base selection, it is a very solid 3 star strategy. I do agree however that u definitely need to level up your Pekka and golems for it to be a 3 star strategy ( I would say Pekka 2, Pekka 3, then golem 2 for the order of importance). 2 golem, 2 pekkas, 8- 10 wallbreakers, rest level 5 wizards is the setup I ran. Either a high level Pekka or level 2 witches for the cc. Luring is not necessary, as a well placed rage will take care of enemy cc troops, also use the enemy cc to agro your troops towards the core. I have seen 2 rage 1 heal, and 2 heal 1 rage work, however I usually ran w 3 rage spells with this combo when I was an 8, if u use then wisely, u will March through the majority of the base before your troops take a significant amount of damage. I used GoWiPe as a TH8, even early on when they were L1 (Wiz L5) and consistently got 2 stars the majority of the time. I managed to start 3 starring opponents once my PEKKA got to L3 and Golem got to L2. Wall Breakers can stay at L4 because it still takes 2 of them up to L8 walls.

Nothing wrong with two stars, especially a TH8 going up against a TH9, rushed or not.

My composition was 2 Golem, 12 Wizards, 3 PEKKAs, 6 Wall Breakers, 1 Hog Rider (to lure the hard to reach CC). My CC had Wizard/Archer mix.

Everyone remembering "back in their day" getting 3 stars against th8s are forgetting a couple of things. First if you're using gowipe its probably against a near max th8 otherwise you'd simply use dragons/loons for a 3 star. Second when you were th8 might have been before the 4th mortar and for sure was before they adjusted the the hit points of buildings. Its way tougher to get 3 stars with gowipe than it was back in your day.

And for those saying its ok to get 2 stars you are obviously in a clan with only th8s....because once you have th9s in your clan you will know you cannot afford to only 2 star any th8. Its 3 stars or nothing.

"back in (my) day" was 2 weeks ago. We have three TH10s, 2 TH9s (me being the newest), and the rest TH8/7/6.

It seems that you 3 star or 0 star ("Its 3 stars or nothing") opponents you come across. What troop composition do you use and what happens when you don't 3 star your opponent?

Yep anything less than 3 stars is the same as zero. Like I said in my other post dragons and loons is still your best bet to get 3 stars. If someone doesn't get it then another th8 attacks it. If everyone fails then a th9 has to drop down to 3 star it.

Town hall 8 GoWiPe is a 2 star strategy at its best. The only bases you will 3 star will be the ones that are super open with few compartments and level 7- walls... and that's with level 3 pekkas.

If you really want to use this strat what I use is 2 golems, 2 pekkas, 2 witches in the clan castle, 8 wall breakers, a clan castle kill squad and the rest wizards.

Upgrade your Pekka and WBs to get to that core faster.

Should the OP decide to go with gowipe at TH8 then pleeeeease I beg you upload ALL the replays, so we can settle who was right.

Best weapon for a TH8 against a TH8 are dragons lvl 3. EOD.

Against a max th8, drags are good for 2 stars at best, unless the layout is horrible. I agree that a base needs to be a bit open for gowipe, but if it's not, then a troop comp that incorporates hogs is your best bet. Dragoon is also a powerful comp, but has to be executed perfectly for the 3, if not, u r propably looking at 1 or 0 star results. I encourage all the th8 in my clan to become proficient in strategies other than drags while at th8 (especially gowipe) before moving to th9. Golem army variants translate very well to th9 label clan wars. if all u do at th8 is mass drag, u r crippling yourself for th9. EOD.
