Considering Jumping to TH9 With Current Setup.. Advice needed

Hello - Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that made these boards what they are.. Without the boards I wouldnt be where I am today and i really appreciate everyone that posts and inputs on these threads.

I like alot of others got on here around th6 and since then I have ended up with the bowser base and I am approaching TH9 Territory - It feels like my base is still super strong, even against th9 farmers... and war attacks.

Can you guys review my base and give me some tips? I am not sure if i should just go to th9 or not?

Lab: all basic troops are maxxed at 5 // DE troops: hogs-3 Minion-2 Valk-1 Golem-1
King is 6 as you can see, just finished it might I add. (I will atleast get him to 10 before going up for sure).
Rage is max @ 5
Heal is max for 8 @ 5
Lightning max for 8 @ 5 as well.

Defenses not maxxed:
Teslas are 4, 3/5 ATs are still 9 and not 10.

The big thing i am fighting in my head is the desire to get all skull walls, and I currently have none.. just been grinding the ♥♥♥♥ out of s1-g1 to get defenses / upgrades done...

You wont have any issues jumping to TH9 at your stage, as long as you keep to Gold League. I found that as a TH8, I would often get smoked by TH8s (With Giant/Heal) and TH9s. As a TH9, I can defend much better with Xbows and few more towers/walls and traps.

And in regards to Skull walls, Im currently TH9 and about 15 skulls to go, I did 50% of skulls at TH8 (when elixir upgrade was available) and just recently finishing Skulls as a TH9.

Once I had built my Xbows, Upgraded the new Def to TH7-8 equiv, I started on skulls.

Now what I did was upgrade all my Elixir based buildings while upgrading my walls with Gold. Im currently at 15 purp/blue walls left with 1 DE Drill at Level 5 going to level 6. Once all my elixir buildings are upgrade I can focus on Gold/DE for upgrades, and then pump any extra Lix into Lego walls.

This is my strat anyway, its working for me!

IMO only rush to higher TH when:
1- You can raid your own TH with ease using a cheap army, no spell and heroes and with profit. (In your case other TH8)

2- You face full storage. In your case elixir storage. If you have full DE storage too you should not wait a second.

Jump lots o loot at th 9

Your base is VERY weak...you should have by now some skulls and mostly purple. Leave 1 builder idle and start dumping gold in walls if you want to go at th9 with acceptable walls.

Thanks for the replies everyone.. It's very hard to dump Gold into walls with all the defense upgrades needed at TH8.. Honestly I made the walls last and that might be my issue?

I think ill at least finish off my purp walls first with a few gemmed farming nights and go to TH9 on Monday or so...

I think you should get your king to level 10.

Yes the xbows make the difference you are more than ready to go on.

Got it -

Doing all purple + half skulls at least before jump
BK to 10
Hogs to 4
Golmes to 2
3 more ATs need to go to 10
Teslas are @ 4 and need to go to 6

After all these things are done I will jump to th9

With those defenses you now have, you get slapped around. With your troops, you couldn't two star a decent TH8. Now what train of thought has you thinking a higher level will be easier/better?

Max defenses all regular troops and spells and at least hog and minions. If you don't have skull walls, hopefully you'll scare the 7s . won't

I have far weaker defenses and still not slapped around. Only maxed splash at TH8 and TH7 point defenses. I said I would "catch up" on the defenses at TH9, but I found that I was not hit frequently enough to justify upgrading defenses, so I did collectors, walls and heroes

My troops are max level for th8... How do i level them up beyond level 5 at th8?

Where did i say it would be easier better? I just said i was considering the jump and needed some advice.... I didnt poop in your cheerios guy.

You should get extremely close to maxing out your TH8. But if you were to rush right now, your walls are too weak and you may want to focus on those.

Yep, thats what i was thinking.. Theres more people saying to max it than saying to rush it... I guess I was just seeing what the over all opinion was.

I am enjoying TH8 right now, and want to max most everything before moving up... Thanks again!

I am now considering on doing that too, now that you say that. I would be an under developed TH9 tho and have super low lvl heros and walls and stuff

I know you are excited to go to th9, but trust me, you will be so happy that you maxed out th8 first. Loot will be slow at the start of th9. You will put off your walls for a very long time, too much big expensive upgrades to do. Th8 is a fantastic th to get loot fast. Spend a little extra time and you will enjoy th9 much more. Don't rush.

Did 2hr Gemboost on my rax / Spell fac and did about 4 mil gold in the 2 hrs.. got about 18-19 walls done..

Just need to grind.

Grinding Setup

4 giant
6 WB

80 Goblins
30 BARB
30 Arch

The rest i fill with hogs / ballons for clearing paths for raged goblins for inactive TH9 people with 400-500 k of each...
