URGENT IMPROVEMENTS TO CHAT NEEDED! - A letter to the Supercell team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Supercell,
I am making this thread because I believe that chat in Clash of Clan is just plain unsatisfactory - both on a technical AND a community level.
Firstly, I must speak about the most game breaking level of fault - the technical side of chat.
The chat is plagued with errors of a feature that is a core component to your abuse prevention policy - The 'censorship' that you have implemented is laughable. It has the audacity to block harmless words of pharses (e.g "That would be something") and to completely ignore derogatory words (e.g "♥♥♥♥♥♥ed"). This can not stand as it is not just annoying, but it opens a gateway for abuse to take place.
Despite the "Report" buttion , which is implemented to stop such abuse, cyber bullying will , as it always does, find a way to make that buttion seem a million miles away for the victims.
I believe I have a solution for this. Many gaming communities employ "Chat Moderators" who moderate chat - either ingame, or by keeping track of the chat logs off-game. This has been proved to be effective on many other games, and I believe that it is essential. And I am certain that you will get many people from the community, and externally, would jump at the chance to protect those who use the chat.
I do understand, however, that there would have to be a major background check for those who would be employed, but it would be worth it!
On the other hand, we also have the problem on the Community side. Unfortunately, chat is just a bore, with the one and only subject being Clan Recruitment. It has gotten to such a point where loyalty is non existant in clans and even bringing up the subject of recruitment is faced with a wall of other people doing it. I have no solution for this, but......
I do have an alternative. Why not get involved with the community by setting up contest in chat (e.g A Quiz, a discrite "Name the Album" Competition, etc.) Every week / Fortnight, so all of us in your community dont feel so uninvolved.
I wish to express my many thanks to all of you at Supercell, and I hope you take mu constructive criticism onboard
Yours faithfully,
McCartney
I think I need to explain myself more

There are always going to be people that are stupid and silly on global. It's just how global is unfortunately. Plus, people are silly because they know the worst that can happen is a 24-hour global ban.
The best advice I can give you is to report them, and mute them. I personally wouldn't confront them directly, as that can just cause more arguments, and ruin global even more.
But for the large majority to be complete self centred, unloyal, entity's? What does a community say about a game?
A game with a poor community is one that needs a major social overhaul. Major. The community can be so much more...
I for one would love that job

i am so sick of perverts, bullying, vulgarity, and drama trolls destroying the game, and also drives me crazy when I try and type a simple word like chip I can't, yet they know exactly how to get around vulgarity and bullying with simple tricks of the keyboard. I am the report monster, if I see a person being attacked and bullied i will report, copy past and send in, but the reporting only works i think once. I admire you for mentioning this, as a parent, my child is not allowed to play this game because of chat. Im sure i will be attacked for my comments here, but im used to it. Good luck, i sure hope this goes ahead.....
