No offense, bad idea. First, like stated would take forever to get to even a mere 1000 trophies. Secondly, what would Supercell do, reset everyone's trophies? Everyone would be mad if they did. And lets say they don't reset trophies, those champs always stay on top, and would be near impossible for anyone else to enter champs. Or Supercell would have to change the trophy ranges for each league. I honestly don't want to see champion's league at 1000 trophies. And finally, bases would be so bunched up, would be hard for newer members to play. If a townhall 2-5 were to attack, would take so long because all of the bases would get bunched up into a smaller trophy frame. Millions of bases in 1000 trophies of each-other doesn't sound great to me, considering there would be so many diverse bases. You would see a townhall 2 one time, then a max townhall 10 the next search.
@NuclearKiller42: I am actually a mathematician, so yes I certainly "math". Hypothetical scenario: you have 1423 trophies and you attack an opponent with 1577 trophies. How many trophies do you get if you 3-star the base? And how many do you lose if you fail to get a star? Do you know the answers to these questions? I don't! And I don't think anyone outside SC does either, because SC has not published the trophy determination algorithm.
@BurningAbyss: I think that this is already a problem. I currently have 1477 trophies and live in Gold3, so you could say I am an average player. When I search for a raid I encounter anything from TH5 to TH10 (I am a TH8 myself).
Again, some of the problems people are identifying aren't actually problems...if you shrink the range total trophies that players have, you also narrow the search criteria, so the types of bases you'd come across wouldn't be any different.
The big problem though is what I and others have said...you can't scrap the existing system bc it will ♥♥♥♥ off a lot of people who worked hard to get their trophies, but you can't drastically change it either bc people who dropped trophies to attack easier bases will have a much tougher time getting back to where they were.
There is one thing that I do kind of like about this, which is that not losing trophies for failed attacks makes it difficult for players to drop trophies. The problem is figuring out how to implement something like it without breaking the game.
I agree that slower trophy advancement is neccessary. If we played "as the game was designed to" then we would be at Crustal by the time we get to town hall 7 (no rushing, no sniping). It's ridiculously easy to advance really fast with the farmers in this game. I've tested it once and in 3 months at town hall 6, I reached crystal III with just archers, barbs and the odd giant. I've seen town hall 6s make it to Champion.
Although I like your idea and want the trophy system to be fixed, SC can't stop farming without massive revolts and quitting. So I have yet to find a way to solve the sniping without removing farming completely. One way I found to be helpful, but not effective was to raise the cost of nexting based on your town hall level and the league you were in (e.g town hall 10 in below-bronze pays 6000 per next, but only 166 in champion). I even came up with a formula for the nexting cost but nobody was interested in abolishing easy farming (much like how humans are reluctant to give up farming and go hunt and gather in real life). SC isn't very proactive at fixing the trophies do we may be waiting a long time before any serious changes start to happen.
Maybe not 2 stars per attack though, why don't you multiply all your star numbers by 4? Appease some but don't get rid of things...
Townhall no shield will effectively eliminate farming and start riots so I don't think it will get implemented :(
P.S. you can try and figure put the numbers in your remark to Nuke up there by attacking some guy and then checking out his trophies thorugh the battle log afterwards. Keep a log and then try to find a pattern. I would do that but as my location says I'm stuck with real life projects for the time being.
I see no problem with the way the current trophy system is now.
I fail to see how your proposed trophy system will improve the game, especially with everyone disagreeing with it. Bottom line, I don't think it will change.
