No more hoppers

I HAD a Great idea, tell me what u think?.So what if you had to put up a wager in order to war call it a security deposit of loot that u get back along with ur winnings after war, lets say you only use one attack half percent is returned, you leave or no attack you loose your wager or deposit and it is divided amoung your clan that warred on your behalf. It would make players really be sure before the opt in for war and discourage others from Hopping aka joining taking your troops and saying they want war than leave once their in it because we all know how frustrating it is.

You are a genius!!! That's brilliant! Yes, that would certainly help to solve the problem! I fully support this!

Drop barbs on two bases, get loot back, donate wall breakers to all, leave the clan.

How large a deposit? Something like 3-500 K gold would keep a TH10 but a TH7 couldn't afford it, if it's something like 100k that may be a lot for a low level, but high levels would just ignore it

I don´t thinkt that this would be useful. People who don´t want to attack will troll your clan to get their loot back. They would attack only with one barb or something like this.

And sometimes the weakest in a Clan have no choice left to attack, because other, stronger clanmembers attacked the weakest opponents. Then the weakest of your clan would be punished for the other´s mistakes. What could you do if you are a mid TH6 and the only opponents left are TH8 and higher? Right, spotting one barb to get your loot back...


And establishing this kind of idea on your stars you got in the war wouldn´t be fair. Sometimes you really try hard but you fail. I think thats enough of a penalty.

Sadly, I think Trivian is correct. It bums me out to sa that too.

I really liked the suggestion and still think it was an awesome piece of creative thinking. But as I read down the list and got to this post I had to regrettably decide this guy had a point too. So the OPs ide I think would reduce hopping a lot (guys that are not committed will balk at putting money up in the first place more often than they would put it up then troll) but not completely enough.

I think the best solution to hoppers remains for the leadership to do the screening and filtering up front before a guy is welcome in war at all.

Although I wonder how it would work if this was implemented and a person practiced both forms of protection since they are not mutually exclusive.. The amount to put up can be based on th level. (speaking to the posters question above)

While I applaud you on an original idea twist it still doesn't address my often repeated scenario. All you are doing is giving them incentive to act like a jerk so they will get themselves booted. SC would never put a system in that allows a clan leader to take deposits, then boot somebody and keep the loot. The abuses of that would be incredible. So instead of leaving and loosing their war deposit . . .

You need to remember who you are complaining about here. Either the player leaving is leaving because you have a poor clan and/or poor leadership, or they are leaving because they have questionable moral integrity. For the sake of argument lets assume you are a wise and effective leader, so this must be one of those d-bags that hangs you out to dry. If you get your way and players are forced to stay or penalized for leaving . . . <fade to foreshadowed scene>

1) D-bag joins
2) You start war
3) D-bag wants to leave but can't (SUCCESS!!! He is stuck with you now!!!)
4) D-bag is a d-bag and wants out, so he decides to get kicked out
5) So he fills war castles with goblins and wallbreakers
6) And fills donations with goblins and wall breakers
7) And turns your clan chat into something that makes global look like bible study
8) And defames your clan on global
9) Then wastes both attacks in the war anyway
9a) Set their base up so it is super easy to 3*
10) And continues to fill war requests with ♥♥♥♥ troops
11) Maybe even comes to the forums to badmouth you and your clan
12) You kick them out
or
12) Your other clan members leave because you won't kick out the D-bag

Remember, this is already a person who doesn't care if they hurt your clan. Long story short, you are requesting a way to force people who don't want to be in your clan, who you don't even want in your clan, to be stuck in your clan. NOTHING good can come of this. Bad idea every time it is suggested.

What you describe here can actually happen today, and is not related to or caused by war deposits. The difference is that, with the war deposit, you kick the D-Bag but at least the deposit becomes the property of the clan.

Can . . . Because hoppers are not forced to do this so they currently save themselves the effort. They just want to move on the easiest way possible. If you change it so that the easiest way is to be as nasty and disruptive as possible, that's what you'll get.

The notion that kicking somebody will allow you to keep a deposit is just preposterous not to mention callus and lower class than the actions of the hoppers you are so upset about. I can't think of a single instance in real life where a deposit is put down and it is legal for the person holding the deposit to cancel without returning it. Since resources can be purchased with real money SC would be opening the door for a variety of lawsuits for facilitating theft

Besides. You still haven't answered the big question here. Why do you want the type of person you don't want in your clan . . . to be forced to stay in your clan? You should be finding ways to identify them and prevent them from joining. Not trying to find ways to make the people you don't like stay longer.
