Storages Spell Immunity

First, no matter how good your defenses are, if you have full storage a little bit of zap from lightning spells let you lose great amount of resources.
Second, there's really no need for spells to damage non-defensive structures? I can consider if there would be a spell which would amplify damage to structures because it would still require some troops before it would be destroyed but no one actually spends lightning spells on empty storage so they could save time.

Possible solution(s):
a. Grant spell immunity to non-defensive structures which would mean they won't get damaged by spells.
b. Allow only troops to acquire resources from structures which means even if they damage structures with spells, they gain nothing from it.
c. Emphasize alternative ways of gaining DE. for th level 7, a level 3 DE drill means 540 DE over 12 hours while 3 level 4 lightning spells against a level 2 DE storage with over 1000 acquirable DE could give about 400+ DE at the cost of 60000 elixir and doing that for over 12 hours means several thousands of DE given that the player have more than enough elixir. Clan wars also give reasonable amount of DE which is great. Balance them to a certain degree.

I don't know. There isn't really a scarcity in DE, maybe it's about the scaling of the need for DE and the capacity to hold it like in TH7 you can have a minimum capacity of 10k DE and at most 20k and first you need 10k for a BK which is equal to the capacity of a level 1 DE storage then after some time to upgrade it to level 5 you need 20k DE which is the maximum capacity you can only hold at th7. My point is, what makes it so hard to gain is because you'll get constantly attacked when you have reasonable amount in your storage. Plus players zapping your storage do not even give you shield to recover the resources you have lost. It makes anyone furious that they cannot avoid losing resources to this kind of players since there is no way to defend your storage from spells.

I hope you'd find a solution for this problem that has existed for so long.

lighting is good for the game because high lvl ppl drop down to gold for easy loot from low lvl ones and they r immune to low lvl player as they have a strong defense

ppl in CoC should never be safe from attacks!!!

This will only lead to increased lightning zapped DE. Lowering the unit cost of an item (BK) increases the value of the currency used (DE).

Why do people differentiate between lightning zapped DE and goblins stealing it ?

In fact, why do people bother with lightning when gobs are cheaper?

Ever seen a clutch 50% when you lightning spell a builder's hut or hero altar?

THIS ISN'T A BIG PROBLEM. Even when I get a full storage, I get zapped about 1 out of 5 attacks at the most. Since the new drill given at th7, it is much, much easier to get the level 5 bk.

Well... I didn't expect it to happen but HA! there you go, storage spell immunity, with regards to resources being raided using cheap tricks, or should I say non-strategic way since it isn't literally cheap. Good job Supercell. People will use their heads now for them to acquire their precious dark elixir if they aren't satisfied with just drills and wars.

Well said, nothing should be easy to get and zapping was the most irritating thing for all except Zappers

Probably the least intellectual thing I've read in the forums today. First of all a gowipe, lavaloon is gonna cost you a ton in resources specifically dark elixir, the very thing you're complaining about getting. And the majority of players who used lightning spells townhall 7, 8 and 9 need elixir as much as they need dark elixir for upgrades. Second of all the majority of players who complained about lightning spells were top lvl townhall 9 and 10s. Players who's resources you don't just steal like that. I got hit by a max lvl gowiwipe plus max valks and the guy only managed a single storage compartment. No base should be immune but some bases immune from some attackers. Example, a max townhall 10 from a townhall 8. Supercell has done more than enough to defend townhall 7 and 8 players from strong players, you have nothing to complain about.

They could add a tower availible at th 7+ called a lightning rod that catches all lightning bolts in a certain radius, incresing with level.

This thread you necro'ed is almost a year old. Since that time, Supercell has indeed made storages immune to lightning, so your recommendation of a lightning rod is no longer timely nor needed.
