Is this really fair?

Is this really fair? I have a follower who never puts an item into their shop, but comes to my shop at least once a day, sometimes more, and clears every item that I have for sale in my 20 boxes. I am aware that items put into my shop are for sale, it's beginning to bug me that this person, I say person as they don't have a picture, will take everything including land expansion goods even though their farm is fully expanded. I put these items in for friends or followers that need them as I very seldom advertise anything. I am aware that it is possible to remove this follower from my follower bar but its crazy that they are still able to get access to my farm. I really enjoy playing Hay Day but sadly I feel that this person will force me to quit. Surely it should be possible to delete followers as I am positive that I am not the only person experiencing this problem. i actually have25 boxes which surprised even me .

I am confused. You currently CAN pick whom you want to follow?

Or do you mean you want to pick who can follow YOU?

I believe the following limit is 5 due to the amount of memory on the servers allowed or something like that. Not too saavy to know the exact reason.

Yes, The whole selling to neighbours or followers thing has been an issue during the advertisement placed without the player consent glitch. People picking up followers without advertising.

I think for the whole of the game, being able to follow a stranger is good.

The people on this forum makes up about 10 percent of the players who play. I have seen farms at level 70 with only 5 stalls!! Following does add interaction for those who don't bother to add friends on the game centre and keep playing slowly as they want.

For those who already have a big group of friends they sell and help with, and want to advertise without picking up the greedy people, then I think this would be a problem.... So I don't know anymore the solution.

Perhaps allow people to have the option of whether their farms can be followed or not?

Fo example, a friend wants to advertise LEM for strangers, but sell goods for lower level friends, and are satisfied with the number of followers they have, then one can turn off the option to let new people follow their farm?

For the OP: People not selling or selling when you check their stall is hugely dependent on how much they play and WHEN they play. I personally wouldn't judge people for not selling and coming back to the farm after being inactive for a while and buying everything because they didn't plant so and so on the farm before going on vacation.

This is the reason why you cannot get rid of 'dead' or inactive followers. This being that you never know if they are away from the game because of lack of wifi somewhere or they play more in a time when you are sleeping.

This being said..... I agree that it is annoying if someone comes and buys everything from you a few times a day.

the way you can get rid of the follower is this: put a sign up for your friends that says "not selling because of unknown raider" then don't sell for a week or fill with BnE. Hopefully they will drop you and move onto another farm... Golly sounds like insects... Only sell when they are gone from the follower list.

This can be a pain, BUT, people have done it and it works.

Thanks for your reply John, like you, I can't see the point of having followers that you can't delete when they get greedy. To date I have not experienced any problems with friends and they are the ones that miss out on the opportunity to buy my goods. I would love to know the reason from Hay Day as to why they feel that followers are necessary, to me some of them completely spoil this great game.

I did post my reply too. I'm not an SC employee but it'd be nice not to be ignored.


The last part of my post was a suggestion for how how to get rid of the followers at the current stage of game design.

Feel free to stop playing though. I'm not telling anyone what to do.

Swisspie81 - The topic originates around greedy/selfish followers, and followers who have stopped playing, etc, etc.. Lots of people are requesting to install a way to delete them (or some of them)

My idea/thought was to get rid of the followers tab altogether, and allow US to pick OUR friends. A maximum number could be put in place, say 30 or 40, instead of the measly 6 we get. Time zones are not really affected, and might relieve server pressure as well..?

Sorry, I have only just come back into the forum, I wasn't ignoring you. I think your idea of an option button as to whether we want our farms followed is brilliant. With regard to my opening post, the person concerned certainly plays every day as I can see that crops are planted and pets are always fed, no doubt on the bacon milk and carrots that I supply them lol. I will try your suggestion of putting up a sign, will I get it all on my shop sign though?

One way that you can make sure that your friends will have a fair chance in buying from your stalls is by telling your friends before putting the stuff you want your friends to buy. Alternatively, you may adopt the trade practice - putting one wheat first to make sure that your intended buyer is already there and then putting the stuff.

How is it possible to tell my friends that I am putting certain items in my shop that they may want? Not sure about the trade practice, I am a bit too old in the tooth to work out how that works lol, but thanks for your reply.

Ah ok. Thanks. I'm sort of quoting my own post but it was not too clear.

I believe the following limit is at 5 currently due to the amount of memory allowed on the server for the follower tab. The suggestion to pick more friends from the DD (if that is what you refer to) would be the equivalent of straining the server.

There is a reason why we can connect with a lot of people on the Game Center, and Facebook, but not in the game itself. Through the Game Center I have deleted many friends for reasons that just don't match my style of game play.

The follower is a system withIN the game for interaction. I'm not saying it is perfect. But I think the fact that it exists is good for the whole of the game since some do not bother with adding friends on facebook or game center.

Perhaps one can design the system to ban a follower from your shop somehow if you feel they have been buying too much, but currently the only way to stop them is to not sell for a time and they will move on.
