Ive heard of holowiwi, but mainly for th9. I just have a few doubts....
1. What (estimated) count per army troop should i have (2 witches in CC)
2. Are lv5 loons strong enough?
3. How would you attempt a holowiwi with a compact base. Ive seen a lot of open bases get destroyed because .... They're open.... Wouldnt it be harder to holo a compact base where every defense is being guarded with other defenses?

Level 5 loons are barely strong enough to hold their own weight up. I woudnt even bother considering using them unless they are against ground or wizard towers and completely out of range of any arch tower or air defense. They are just absolutely useless. To answer your third question though, yes, much harder to holo a compact base. Youre much better off with mass dragons with 5 max loons in your clan castle.Quote:

Holowiwi takes more loons due to them being weaker, add in 20 less troop slots at th8 and you will be running significantly less hogs then a th9. Most of the time holo is not the best strategy for th8 although if the base is right go for it.
I wouldn't HoLoWiWi at TH8.... The balloons just aren't strong enough. I would stick to hogging and mass dragons in war.

Please explain how you are gonna use witches at TH8 ?
Yes I realize you can put ONE in the CC.
2 actually, a witch is 12 housing and max lvl CC for TH8 is 4 and can hold 25 housing which means you can hold 2 with 1 spot to spare.Quote:

The risk while using loon 5 is due to teslas & bombs.you may need to take more loons in case they show up near your target.
At TH8, you really only have 3 effective war options.
1) Hogs (lvl 4's can pretty much 3 any TH8 equivalent maxed or otherwise)
2) Drags (mass drags still very effective at Th8)
3) GoWipe (for late Th8's and only on bases you can't 3 with hogs or drags. Its the safe 2 star option, though clearly not as good nor effective as it is at TH9/10).
Holowiwi is a TH9 strat, and lvl 6 loons are a drastic increase over lvl 5's.
Stick to hogs/drags as a TH8. Those are your bread and butter troops for war.
HoLoWi works wonders at th8. Lvl 5 loons are just fine but you have to run 2v1 sometimes a few 3v1s
You don't need witches at th8 bc you're not dealing with an AQ so it's better to roll with 5 maxed hogs in your CC
You can typically get away with something like
20 loons
10 wizards
5-10 barbs/archers for cC lure
10-11 hogs+5 CC hogs maxed
2 rage 1 heal (at th9 your roll more heals but at 8 you need rage)

Loonion (people always forget about this one at th7 and th8 :/. Really the only two THs where a straight up loonion Attack works for 3 :p )
A little bit off-topic here.
I've been using a strategy I like to call GoLoWiPe in war. I save my attacks until near the end and clean up any 2 starred TH8 bases. I'm a TH8 myself and almost never fail a three star on another maxed TH8 with my strategy.
Army Composition
2 Pekkas - Level 3
2 Golems - Level 1
10 Wallbreakers - Level 5
18 Wiz - Level 5
Clan Castle
5 Balloons - Level 6
Spells
2 Rage
1 Heal
The Strategy is to do a GoWiPe as you normally would, once your pekkas and BK reach the core and destroy at least 2/3 Air Defences, you backend the base with the CC balloons. This helps your troops live while getting out of the core and also helps not running out of time.
