Lightening spells didn't take out AD??

Alright, so I used 3 lvl 4 lightening spells on a lvl 6 AD and unfortunately it failed me. Was my first time doing it, and it would've gotten me the 3 star yet for some reason it failed me. I've had a couple clan mates attack a lvl 6 AD. This war with same level lightening and theirs worked fine. I even checked my placement. Here are some screenshots of the engagement with my spells.

3 Level 4 Lightning spells do AoE damage- 1170 in total. A level 6 air defense has 1150 health. One little placement flaw will let the unsuspecting air defense live... Since it does AoE the 20 damage one minor flaw/unoticable can lead to failure and the damage is spread to other targets. That air defense probably had around 10 HP left.

The damage doesn't spread to other targets. One of the bolts just missed hitting the AD

Yeah I just had a member of my clan use the 3 lightening with no probs. lol just bad luck I suppose

when it doesnt, i get 3 stars.

Its not bad placement, its rng intended by the creators. The damage of the lightning spell is not an average, more of a maximum. The total damage by 3 lightning spells will likely be 100 damage less than the stated damage. This is because even if you drop them all centered on the target, not every bolt will hit the target, this is why it never hits its max damage shown by the spells.

You just gotta know that lvl 6 air defenses will sometimes not be killed by the attack. Also, level 5 lighting spells will solve the problem.

That's false

Happened to me aswell last war, I feel you :/

you should try to drop it slowly. members in my clan have same problem. just do it slowly and drop right at center, u should be alright. Also you guys can check out my video on how to use all dragon with 3 lightning spell on th7 and 8. here is the link: https://youtu.be/JCPExRqKIkg

Make sure to fully zoom in your screen while dropping and slowly drop them one at a time, making sure to hit the middle with every time. I would also suggest leveling up your lightning spell....not much room for error.
