Switch Dragons and PEKKAs in the barracks

So not true. Yet again, my TH7 base was repeatedly attacked in war by 10+1 dragons. The strongest was 10 lvl 3 dragons + 1 level 1. Heal + 2rage spells. Defended by three lvl 4 ADs near the centre, WTs covering the ADs, ATs space around in the mid circle, and a circle of dragon fodder for them to breath on while being shot. That attack scored two stars, preceding lesser dragon attacks scored one star.

So many bases have poorly arranged ADs WTs and ATs for dragon defense, so often with under developed ADs. Their upgrading is not so expensive, but people seem to prefer to upgrade walls over ADs. They deserve to lose.

This base is TH8.
Yes, TH7 wouldn't stand a chance against 11 lvl 3 dragons, which are only available at TH8.

Can a TH7 survive 11 lvl 2 dragons?

7 or 8 pekkas would still wreck a th7

I do not see how unlocking Pekkas at TH 7 instead of Dragons will help them from getting destroyed easily. TH 7 only has 2 Hidden Telsas, and not very high level ones at that, so launching a mass Pekka army would be just as effective, if not more so. Poor AD placement is to blame for being destroyed by mass Dragons, not that they are unlocked at TH 7.

I agree with a previous poster about being seriously tired of this constantly being posted. However, it's definitely one of the better suggestions for solving this issue. I can definitely see a Giwipe being a very effective and more entertaining war strategy for TH7s than the mindless and guaranteed 11 Light Mass Drag 3* (yes it's guaranteed if you know what you're doing).

Regarding the progression of the game though, giving TH7s Pekkas and then TH8s Drags doesn't make sense - especially since the usefulness of the drag steeply drops once you're TH9 (it's like you forget you have them). Whereas, Pekkas only become more useful and important for key strategies. In that sense, I'd say no, let the drags stay at TH7 and enjoy the fun while you can.

Perhaps another route to consider is taking lvl2 drags away from TH7 altogether and rescaling dragon damage and HP such that you'll need to use something more in combination to obtain the 3*. At least then they're rolling some kind of a Dragloon or Hogs+Drags combination to obtain the 3*. For TH8s, only lvl2 is available but obviously scaled to overcome the fact that TH8 will probably not have LVL3s (too much research upgrades already). Maybe buff the LVL3 to at least attempt to make them useful at TH9 in some combinations.

Where do I begin?

"That's not a solution. A fire breathing monster 'should' demolish a village" - this statement makes no sense whatsoever. A question I asked in one of my previous posts: For what reason should dragons be so overpowered that at th7 it takes no skill to execute a three star? You have no reason here whatsoever.

I'm "butt hurt that some guy dragged me"? I am a level 103 town hall 9, as clearly stated in my signature, and in a response I typed to another person who said something similar. I have well-upgraded air defenses. I'm proposing this to help others, namely TH7s. Please be more observant.

Town hall 7s can get dragged by th8s. And what is the problem in that? Shouldn't a higher level town hall be able to three star the town hall below it? If that town hall cannot, then there is something wrong. I'm solving the problem of th7s easily three starring th7s with an attack too overpowered at that level.

Having TH7s use different strategies is exactly what I am trying to encourage with this idea. Though drags become less useful at th9, they are still a very prominent strategy at th8 and cannot be ignored at that level. Yes, PEKKAs are useful in late-game play, but that does not mean th7s can't have access to them - take the wall breaker, for example.

If this isn't implemented, I agree that something needs to be done to reduce the effectiveness of drags at th7, and cutting down stats would be a good start. If my idea is implemented, the level 1 PEKKA would probably need a nerf to remain balanced with level 3 teslas at th7.

I agree that it does not require skill to 3star any TH7 base with dragons. However, you seemed to have focused only on TH7 that you may not have considered what this would do to the TH7-TH8 transition. If dragons are taken away I see no other way a max TH7/early TH8 can consistently 2-3star early/mid TH8s they might get matched up with in clan wars.

PEKKAs are much more powerful than Dragons. It even takes up more space than Dragons. The troops are good where they are now. Interchanging wouldn't help, you may request for a new troop in its place.
