Switch Dragons and PEKKAs in the barracks

It is extremely easy for a th7 to three star another th7: all that is required is 11 dragons, 3 lightning spells, and the skill required to tap an air defense.

Dragon attacks require no skill at th7, yet they can be used by any th7 to virtually guarantee a three star on any th7 base. EDIT 3: No one has disputed this or questioned this. Everyone accepts that dragons can be used to three-star any th7 base with minimal skill.

I see so many threads to nerf dragons and how OP dragons are, but I realized that the problem was not dragons, but dragons at th7. Thus, a solution needs to be implemented not to nerf dragons, but to nerf dragons at th7.

My proposal: make PEKKAs the 9th spot in the barracks, and dragons the 10th. Thus, dragons are unlocked at th8, and PEKKAs are unlocked at th7.

I propose that PEKKAs cannot be upgraded at town hall 7, to retain the balance so that th7s cannot be easily three starred no matter what the base. At th8, PEKKAs can be upgraded to level 3.

This will fix the problem of defense being worthless at th7, so dragon attacks can't be used to three-star anyone.

EDIT: Before you go and tell me to "build a better base", say that I'm "mad that other people can three-star me", etc., please notice my signature, where my TH level and player level are clearly displayed. I'm making this thread to help TH7s.

EDIT 2: For this to work the level 1 PEKKA would have to be nerfed to be in line with TH7s' defenses and lack of powerful teslas.

You should feel ashamed for making this. Its ez pz to counter dragons. Level up your air defenses and git gud with your base.

A TH7 should get smashed by dragons, if you cant, why even bother having dragons? Theyre expensive and slow, thats the point. I think its fine where it's at.

Please read my thread more carefully. I'm making this thread in response to the threads that tell SC to nerf dragons, when the only problem is th7s using dragons.

Also, if you had noticed my signature, I'm a level 103 th9, so I don't need you to tell me to "level up my defenses and get good with my base" to stop dragon attacks - I'm proposing this idea to help others.

Why "should" th7s get smashed by dragons? Why should it be the case that an attack should be so overpowered at a certain level that it takes no skill to execute? Please elaborate.

Your welcome to your own opinion, but in my opinion clan wars is for the "late game" of clash. In my opinion, the very beginning of the "late game" would be considered th8, considering every town hall before that is about 1 month or less to max

Dragons should be left overpowered for the same reason giant-healer should be at th6: those th levels just are not that important in clan wars, and you just aren't there long enough for it to really matter.

Besides, if you take dragons away from th7, you will most likely just see a shift to using hogs at th7 in wars and hear complaints about that instead due to the lack of enough giant bombs and walls to build an anti hog base

Just because there are a lot of players who are in "late game" clans that war doesn't mean that lower level town halls should be ignored. There are clans who war who have lower level members as well as clans who have higher level members.

Taking dragons away from th7 might increase hog use, but I doubt it: a level 2 hog has 312 hit points, and a level 2 giant bomb deals 300 damage to hogs, meaning that a giant bomb + bomb pair or a giant bomb + wiz tower would kill hog attacks.

That logic would also stop th8 hog raids, nothing that isn't countered by a heal spell mixed with pre triggering a bomb. Due to them being short 50 walls, it is extremely difficult to make false bomb locations.

However, lets assume your right, and hogs aren't viable. What 3 star strat is left against a th7 then? Hard to think of one that doesnt rely on a poorly laid out base, isnt it?

It is extremely hard to counter giant bombs when there is a 12 hp difference between the hogs' health and the giant bomb's damage. At higher town hall levels, there is not such a small difference and bombs can be healed through. This may be countered in a well-executed hybrid hog raid where the attacker is able to trigger the giant bomb with 1 hog.

Because hogs aren't viable, giant attacks would be the generally used strategy, possibly with the new PEKKA. While level 4 balloons are extremely weak compared to higher levels, balloonion may or may not be viable due to the lack of a third air defense, but I don't have enough experience with th7 to say for sure.

Possibly with pekka's giants would become a viable 3 star, but it most certainly is not anywhere close to viable now, and i doubt Pekka will change that. That is, unless the base is absolutely horrible, which we are not figuring into this equation.

My experience with lvl 4 ballons was they are extremely weak, even 1 layer of defenses between them and an ad will annhilate them. However, this is the most viable option, but still heavily reliant on bad bases at this th level in my personal opinion

Not being able to three-star consistently certainly isn't as big of a problem as being able to 3-star with a faceroll attack. I believe that something like a GiWiPe with max loons or hogs in the cc or a balloonion with max loons in the cc would be able to 3-star, but these attacks take more skill than simply placing dragons anywhere on a base.
