I didn't expect this since the must read sticky said there were no immediate plans (but maybe someday) for additional production buildings. I wonder if anything else mentioned in the no immediate plans list will be a reality in this update?

If we are going to need more duck feathers I hope we get more spaces to open in the fishing area. It's all I can do to keep up with fish, lobsters and ducks.

I agree with you, lobsters take to long to trap, and just the time alone to make traps. I'm always short on one of these. (level 72)

More spaces would be nice, but the real bottleneck for me is the netmaker. It's' either/or...lobsters/ducks right now.

Yes, Easter hats! 😍

I completely agree on the net maker. it's hard to make both. I expanded mine. However, I think we need some extra fishing spots. It's hard to do all three with what we have. I haven't even bothered to exoand my duck salon all the way because I don't have enough fishing spots to support it.

Straw hats would be a fantastic use for all that excess wheat, but sadly, judging by the picture, SC didn't think of beach hats or straw boaters.

Oh, well back to expanding the barn so it can hold the new products. *sigh*

BTW, I think the hats will probably sell in the jewellery shop we already have.

Can you tell how big the hatmaker's footprint is going to be, Nick? 2x2, 2x3, or larger? Trying to figure out where I'm going to put it & knowing ahead will help with the planning.

I agree with MiniG re the netmaker. Mine is always going flat out and barely seem to stay ahead.

I am really not too excited about this one. UNLESS, as someone said, it can make hats with wheat. That will be a game changer. But as a new machine, I think it just adds busy work. Thinking back, the last two machines (sewing and candle) did not bring me too much excitement either. Oh well, I will just keep on playing.:straightface:

As much as I would love to have puppies (and kittens and unicorns), some of us simply don't have space for another dog/puppy home, depending on how the person organized their farm (*raises hand*). If we could adopt out animals, that would be ideal. Then I could adopt out some dogs to make space for the puppies.

I know you don't have to have any pet animals in general, but being an animal lover, yes I do. lol.

Edit: The same can be said for machines, as well. Farm space, lack of!

Talk about synchronicity! We were just talking about this in our NH last night!

It's a long running joke among our members about my notorious penny pinching habits (I prefer the loftier term frugality :D) & I was bemoaning the fact that I will have to soon lay out a goodly sum for new machines when one of my friends cheekily suggested I post a thread proposing machine rentals! Of course, this prompted a fit of giggles for all, but, hey, if I can get enough people on board...:cool:

Wool felt hats ?

The hats in the sneak peek pic sure look like they are made of wool felt, imho, and there is a roll of what looks like felt shown. My guess is we will need a felting machine, or maybe we can use the sauce machine :smirk:

I am soooo happy we will have kittens! I had been saving some vouchers in case we had new pets and here they are :)

I am glad i had redesigned my farm in a sustainable when to easily add new machines & features whenever an update becomes available.

I guess people who design those massive buildings will be spending big on the gold outhouses and such.

Me, I'd rather have new decos, rather than the old ones with gold coloring.

The rocks are kind of interesting. If you got rid of all your rocks and regret it, you can put some back.

I wonder what the fenced off rock is supposed to be. Something historic, like Plymouth Rock? Or a petroglyph. Looks like there's something on it.

The gold things are not things I will buy until I have finished all levels because I like to put profits back into the farm. It's a working farm.

But I have seen many farms which are surrounded by the gold fence. Those things will go wonderfully with that gold fence.

Haaa! This, exactly. If we're going to get new pets, I would have loved new pets; not the same type of pet but just as youngsters. :unsure:

Edit: As well, I've said this before but...as much as I love my animals, I don't want my farm looking so cluttered and overrun with them, so a way to adopt some out would be lovely! Plus lack of space, depending on the farm.

I was hoping for another sneak peek this morning also. I'm thinking that because of the time the hat maker takes to "build" the update might come tomorrow so that it will be ready for the weekend. Fingers crossed.

Nothing more has been said about belonging to a neighborhood, or hint as to why we want to when this update happens.
I noticed a lack of forum exclusive hints about the update too.

stuff for the little ones

Puppies and kittens need a safe place to play, their own playground, far far away from the machinery, the water, truck etc. Is it included? and puppy-kitten food? Not just simple "more milk and bacon" lovers. We hardly can produce cream and the other milk products for the farm (can't even fill up the boat with those items).

And please please do reduce the lobster/feather/candy-production-time

I seriously expected other stuff than these animals. They are essentially just smaller versions of what we already have. There are so many other animal options like.. birds for instance, so many variations on those, so many opportunities, or any other domestic animals that people take care of.

Hats seems like a good idea but there again we already were producing blue hats so it may look kind of awkward if the blue hats won't be moved, I believe.

New decos are certainly a good thing.

I seriously expect more stuff from the town area as right now it just seems like any other typical game part where you get people, serve them and off they go. Town can serve for many many more purposes than that so I really hope we can get some more stuff there.

On another note, I would really like some more actual farm land, maybe an additional strip of land to be unlocked, as the farm is getting more and more occupied and I really like to arrange my farm in a very neat, organized way. In this way I will have to make compromises that I will most likely not enjoy, since I run out of space, now with more machines and more animal houses.

Please take into consideration our ideas Nick, much appreciated. Thanks.

Sneak Peeks and Farmland Space

Of all the Sneak Peaks, the one that sounds the most exciting is the Neighbourhood Derby!! I put a lot of thought and effort into designing the layout of my Farm and of course, money to decorate. As I think about the Hat Machine and the Puppy and Kitten houses I really wonder just where I am going to put these things without giving up my beautiful but efficient design. Having read just about every post on the forums and on Facebook since I joined I would hope that HD would make thousands of players very happy by expanding the Farmland space. Please Nik.

Nick, the board in the video shows five neighbourhoods. if there are 15 neighbourhoods competing, does the board show all 15, or will it only show five? If it only shows five, will it show those that are currently the top five Neighbourhoods in the derby, and we will have the ability to click on a tab to see everyone? ( the other picture suggests we will, but confirmation would be nice.)

But didn't they update in the middle of an event at least once before?

There were bugs, and lots of down time to fix them, which wasn't great for the event. But it seems if they really want to update, they don't let an event stop them.

Plus the update you remember was introduced during a global event. This one is just a visitors event.:)

Changes to neighborhood house area on opposite side of road

Anyone else notice the changes to the location where the new derby will be located? It is currently where the train to the town is located. Makes me wonder if they expanded the land on that side of the road?

If the NH derby works like Clan Wars, my neighborhood might not be able to participate. Our leader doesn't play any more. He left two co-leaders, but they have left the NH. (I think they meant to come back, but there's no one left who can let them in now.)

I thought the same when watching the video but if you watch it again you can see there is another line of horse visable so it tells me the screen scrolls down to see all fifteen competing.

I thought there was a mechanism to take care of that. Surely someone at SC can promote one of your members.

There's a mechanism if the leader actually leaves. The leader role goes to someone else in the neighborhood.

Our leader has not left. He just doesn't play Hay Day any more.

The solution is for everyone to leave the NH for a new one. But we might be too lazy to do that.

In the last frame of the trailer, you can't see the train or the rails of it, but you can see (if I'm correct) new land far on the right side of the farm. The trees are gone.

Hope we have more Town buildings and land expansion. I keep gaining expansion items and upgrade items from various tasks but have not been able to use them for months now. Would love to have a use for them other than just constantly selling them over and over again.
