Hi guys in 6 days my lab will finish minies to 6 and with that i will have all air troups max exept the dragon, since all know the dragon is useless at th9+ however I'm a lavaloonian fan and was wondering if its a good strategy to use a couple of dragons in my lavaloonian.
If it's useful I'll do dragon to max if not i guess I'll do freez spell since i need it in easier and lvl 1 is bad.

Get your freeze spells up. Dragons are pretty worthless especially when combined with lava hounds.
IMO Freeze to MAX is the best option for any Elixir upgrade you can do in TH10,
it will enhance your Farming and War options across the board. I waited on my main and have regrets, I will not make this mistake on my alt..

Why are LVL4 Dragons useless?
If someone can 3 star any TH7 & TH8 base with mass LVL 3 dragons.
Does this not work on TH9's with LVL 4 dragons? is it because of the AQ and the Xbows and tesla upgrades?

There are many factors to why dragons just aren't good against th9+ anymore. First and biggest is the 4th AD. Those do a lot of damage so a fourth makes it very tough for dragons. A fourth wiz tower helps too. They dont do much against drags, but every bit of damage helps. There is also the AQ. High damage and can attack air troops. Xbows help as well. And yes the new Tesla levels. Then at Th10 you get infernos which makes it even harder.Quote:

I'm consistently 3 starring mid th8's with LVL 2 dragons and my clan mates are consistently 3 starring max th8's with lvl 3 dragons. No luck needed!Quote:

He is 100% correct. A TH9 has better luck using balloonion on a max TH8 than mass lvl3 dragons.Quote:

I'm a late TH9, working on lvl10 walls and lvl25+ heroes. So I've used my fair share of strategies in the past.
Getting L4 Dragons will make a ton of clan mates happy, improving freeze spell will help you to get more stars on war.
Maybe carrying one dragon is not bad, as sometimes after loons and pups die, you see a 67% and TH in the middle, sometimes putting a dragon in play helps, but usually, 4 more loons, one more lava or some L6 minions is a much better option.
The main issue with dragons in TH9 and TH10 are the seeking air mines. TH8 only has 2, and an attacker has between 8 and 11 dragons. TH9 has 4 SAMs, and only gains 1 additional potential dragon (8-12, depending on CC/bringing loons). TH10 has 5 SAMs, and at best, you could bring 13 dragons. Considering the 5 SAMs, realize that 5 of your dragons are essentially dead at the get go. You'll be able to 1 star most bases, but it will be extremely rare for you to 2 star, and I can't imagine a TH10 base that is reasonably upgraded that you could ever 3 star.
Freeze, on the other hand, is a vital component of *every* TH10 war attack, and level 1 freeze is garbage.
I've been TH10 for a little over a month, and so far, this is what I've done:
Barb 7
Lava Hound 3 (gemmed finish)
Archer 7
Freeze 2
Minion 6 (12 days left)
My plan for the next upgrades are:
Freeze 3
Golem 5
Freeze 4
Wallbreaker 6
After that, I don't much care for any of the remaining upgrades, and will only research wizards for CC troop donations, eventually finishing Freeze 5, and get my hogs up to snuff (they are currently level 2).

Dragons are . . . meh!
