You can, but I would just use all or mostly balloons rather than lvl minions.
The lava pups are esstentially mini-minions. And the higher level hound, the more pups you get when the hound explodes. So I would make upgrading the Hounds a priority over upgrading the minions.
So 4 lava hounds and the rest balloons? So I should just skip upgrading minions and go for lava hound? Will this work until late TH9 so I can upgrade minions last?Quote:

I would do minions as the time it takes to move from 1 to 2 and to 3 is much less than the time taken for hounds. Maybe get them to lv 3 and then do the hounds.
Now, it really depends are your hero levels.
Because your minion levels are not very decent to take down a town hall.
Heroes Combined Level [10-]: You can expect a pretty easy 1 star*
Heroes Combined [10-20]: Almost always between a 1-2 star*
Heroes Combined [20+]: Obtainable 2 star*
* Attacking TH9s and 9.5s
What is this th 9.5 that people refer to?
