Maxed TH8 Conundrum

Stay TH8, I was having the same toughts just like u.

I'm now at TH8 maxing out my walls, while I'm doing that I have time to upgrade my DE troops too.

I'm now even upgrading my golem to lvl 2 at TH8, and have a little bit more then 100 walls to go.

Still need to do Hogs lvl 4 and minions 3 and 4, so when I'm done with walls my upgrades will be on point too.

And thats a big advantage at TH9, since u can focus only on TH9 upgrades and not being stuck with TH8 upgrades.


And about the elixir u waste. I'm sitting around 2-3Mil elixir all the time, overday I dont have much time to play since I'm working then. Train some mass drag armies with 2 rage and 1 heal.

This will waste ur elixir and u won't end up with full eixlir storages 24/7. And u get MASSIVE loot with mass dragon raids.

So I think u should stay and max out, it might suck now but at TH9 u will be glad that u stayed and maxed out.

If I were a rushed TH I could understand focus on defense defense defense, but having leveled up walls could stop ground attacks when defenses are leveled up decently, as well as being a more intimidating base.

In a war with a GoWiPe attack the first 2 rows of walls will be broken by wall breakers, so no difference between lvl 7 and 8 walls (each require 2 breakers).

You then have a 20% increase in strength on your core (which I guess would be skulls already anyway?). At this point the Pekkas should be raged so will 2 hit the walls anyway (lvl 7 or 8).

I agree getting out of the core may buy you 1 hit from a non raged Pekka, byut the chances of this making a difference I would say are pretty negligible.

I'm currently maxing th8, just 2 lab upgrades and about 12 more walls to do. I don't regret maxing, it's a nice feeling to be able to get all the new stuff when you upgrade your th, rather than working on stuff you could have done at th8(:

the only DE troops I could level up would be Valkyries which I don't deem profitable right now. I already have lvl 2 golemns and lvl 4 hogs are already cooking right now.

Problem with max dragon raids is that they take so long to make. I raid 3 hours sessions allowing me to get about 10 good raids in. On Mon and Wed I can get 20 raids in. Gives me about 180 attacks per season. Won't get but a fraction of that if I use dragons.

At TH9 the longest time to upgrade is your archer queen. By completing all your lab upgrades at TH8 it means your lab will be sat doing nothing for around 3 months at TH9 while you work on your queen.

If you moved up a month earlier and started upgrading your queen you would have saved yourself a month on the time it takes to get to max TH9 (which actually is worth maxing).

You will find the people telling you to stay at TH8 never have any maths to back up why they did it.

Didn't ever see your plethora of elixir and just cringe knowing it could be getting a DE drill to max or helping achieve those beautiful Legos?

Same situation as you here. Although I personally know that upgrading to TH9 is probably the better choice I want to get my skulls up as I am a stubborn maxer. Currently farming at Silver I completely ignoring elixir- this way I can solely focus on gold and get my skulls done quicker. Currently on 50, 275 more to go :unsure: Also, I want to push to Masters when fully max and test out a couple of base designs as well- staying max is a nice benefit of able to repel TH9s :)

Jiryama, I could see from your OP that you have done some maths and thought about this, that leaves only 1 logical conclusion. If you value having a maxed TH9 at least a month earlier with out wasting more elixir than you already have upgrade. If you want the warm and fuzzy feeling of maxing TH8 then know that it will take you considerably longer to get to maxed TH9, which actually is worth maxing.

I see, well it was just an option because it fits myself and I tought it might fit u too.

But u have more time overday then me I'm picking up since u are doing boosting sessions.

Hmmm, it is a shame for your elixir but I suggest u should do at least 100-150 skulls. And then might move up to 9 and use that exces elixir for lego's
