I don't know if I spelt that right but I was wondering how effective lavaloonion can be at th9 and what army composition and spells to use and I'd like to be able to account for drawing CC with some troop. Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks.

Th 9 lavaloonion can be extremely effective if it's used correctly. There's no one size fits all composition to use on every base. What you have to do is break down the base piece by piece. Search onehive raids, hulkfiles, and clash with predator on YouTube for some great lavaloonion tutorials. You can also check out the youtube in my signature...just replays with no commentary or explanations or anything, but nonetheless they show how effective the strategy can be :)Quote:

ive experimented with this a fair bit and ive found the perfect 3 star composition that works for me. i use 20-24 balloons / 2-3 lava hounds/ 15-30 minions with 2 rage and 2 heal spells. in your cc you want troops to take out the enemy cc or mopping up troops. usually i lure with a balloon or 2, use some minions on the cc then send in the hounds/loons/ minions if left. rage spell once converging upon air defence and heal when bunched on wizard towers or affected by air bombs. send in your cc if left and heroes mop up non defence buildings. this works a treat. the only thing that makes me alter the comp is air defence lv. if lv 6/7 use 3. if lv 5 or below 2 is enough. my troops are maxed for th9 so 6/5/2 and my spells are maxed 5/6. the best advice i can give is place your rages and heals IN FRONT of your troops , NOT ON THEM! this can make the difference between useful and wasted spells. as mentioned this is not concrete and theres many variations. however only th10's with single target inferno's have prevented me from achieving more than 2 stars on them. good luck in your experimenting!
i just got destroyed in war by this. Dude use 4 lavas, 1 hog (to lure cc) King and Queen to kill my CC troops and 19 balloons. 4 rage spells, CC with balloons in it. Lavas popped and the pups took out the th while the balloons took all defense down. First time ive seen this attack, only time i was 3 stared. im bummed. lol.

14 balloons
5 balloons in cc
King and Queen
Lightning, 2x rage, 1 Heal
Draw the cc out w/ 2-3 balloons, draw them to the corner and kill them with lightning.
Release all balloons side by side or in groups of 4, not clumped
Pick 2 air defenses closest together and send 2 Hounds to each
Release the 2 rage spells close together, preferably where it can affect balloons and hounds both
Release the minions behind the balloons
When the largest pack of balloons start the deflate, use the Heal
If the minions/pups/balloons take the TH down, send the King/Queen into the far side from where the balloons were deployed. If they do NOT take down the TH, then release the King/Queen on the side where the balloons have already destroyed all the defenses so the King/Queen can target the TH w/o getting killed

I was rubbish at it at first but then learnt what I did wrong and find it amazing. Now I have upgraded to lv2 hounds its even more effective. Ive now decided to move to th10 as this will do me well with freeze against other th10.
If the lure is easy I use 2 hounds, 4 barbs to help with lure, 18 minions, 24 loons with 6 loons in the cc. For a difficult lure I like to use 3 hounds, 22 loons, 10 minions with a hound in the cc. Normally I like to use two heal and two rage, but if the air ds are a little too far spread out then I would use 3 rage and 1 heal. I like throwing my loons down first with the hounds right behind them following directly with a heal and then wait just a second to get my rages as deep as possible within the base. Every now and then I will save a loon or two if there is an archer tower all by itself on the opposite side I will attack from and deploy that loon in the middle of the fight to help take care of anything that shoots air. I am a th9 with 631 war stars so I have 3d quite a few th9s with lavaloonion. Can't remember the last time I used gowiwi. I also just witnessed a guy using 5 hounds with 20 loons and 4 rages and easily 3 starred a max th9, but I haven't used 5 hounds so I can't really tell you much about that.

Thank you! I never once thought I would be reprimanded for that name. It could have been much worse but why would I want it to be? I don't sniff turds in real life but it sure seemed like a great username. In his most previous comment he said he does not know why he bothers... Hint hint... Maybe Barney should try and be a little more like Andy. I believe some of you will understand the humor there.

Like others have said you must be 13 to play this game. Go into any middle school and you will hear what your kids hear everyday. I read the terms of service document and I cannot find where this grade school word is in violation. If any thing, Sontaran should be reprimanded for the harassment I am getting (I do see that that is not allowed). I have been peaceful from day one for me on the forums and I have peacefully protested this change. If any moderates read this I am asking you to read the entire thread and decide who has caused trouble. I also ask that the moderater who changed my name to change it back. I cannot believe that this is how members get treated. Talk about violation of the 1st.

Ok so I would reccomend farming with loonion for a while to get a feel for loon pathing.
After that I would try playing around with 2 and 4 hounds
2 hounds 26 loons 30 minions play with your spell comp (3 rage fornsure)
4 hounds 20 loons 15 minions.
This is just to get a feel for them.
Also play around with using a golem and your royals to kill archer queens
