When I left we could upgrade walls with elixer. What happened?

You can still upgrade walls with elixir, they just raised it to level 9 walls.

This is because upgrading low-level walls with elixir was causing an economic problem within the game.

You can after skull walls, it was apparently to help th9 and 10 get elixir from th8's since they always had an abundance

Which is stupid because now we have way more than we know what to do with, I literally have nothing to spend elixir on besides my troops now. I am always a target with max storages 100% full

Well damn that hurts. I got plenty of elixer but walls are only level 7.

That's the way the game has always been and is supposed to work. They had a brief period where level 7 and 8 walls could be upgraded with elixir and the game had never been worse. I was a TH8 and I barched any base in crystal 3 that I could successfully defeat just for the league bonus. Almost every attack had less than 50k of each resource because no one had any loot. It was definitely the most terrible time to be playing CoC (and I was even TH8 so I was one of the lucky people that benefited from the walls for elixir event).

Well hopefully they will bring that back. That was defenitely a plus to base building.

Would you rather have No Elixir? Become a great Clanmate and ask what people want for donations. Try new attack strategies that cost a ton of elixir. Try raiding with an army of PEKKAs.

That's NOT the way it's always been. It used to be such that you couldn't upgrade ANY level of walls with elixir... only gold.
