punishment for leaving a clan

The game wants you to be a clan member, but doesn't reward clan loyalty, I have been with my clan for a year. There is nothing worse than starting a war and then watching 4 or 5 people leave the clan before the war attacks start....their only punishment for this? Having to wait a while before they can do it again. The game needs better rewards for staying with a clan or harsher punishments for abandoning a clan, especially during a war.

Love the game.... but I'm starting to hate most of the people in it.

Welcome to the forum. In the future please use the search function and contribute to an identical existing thread instead of starting a new identical thread. Your request gets posted a lot. Incentivizing staying could work except most people who hop between clans are doing so for GOOD reasons. You would be discouraging visiting friends and helping feeder/alliance clans. Remember, this is already a person who doesn't care if they hurt your clan. Long story short, you are requesting a way to force people who don't want to be in your clan, who you don't even want in your clan, to be stuck in your clan. NOTHING good can come of this. Bad idea every time it is suggested.

Also, in an effort to not only help the OP understand the horrible repercussions of their idea, here is a list of many of the most common things successful clans do to prevent "D-bag hoppers" from being a nuisance. Quoting myself from a recent thread again . . .

Others may chime in with additional ideas but those are the basic ones. Follow those and hoppers will end 99% instantly. Not to mention you will crack a smile when you apply your boots to their crack.

I don't want anyone forced to stay in the clan..... just some form of better discouragement so they don't leave during a war, or some method of resolving the dead attacks they leave behind.... maybe I titled the thread wrong, perhaps it needs to be better rewards for sticking with your clan and remaining active.

Well an idea I have is that if someone leaves the clan, then they go into "negative donations". If they have donated 10 then they go back to 0 then 1/2 of 10 is taken away FROM 0 and they join another clan at -5 Donations. This makes People who have been in a clan along time weary about leaving in a WAR (This will only happen if they leave in a WAR). If they leave and are

- Not in THE WAR
- Or no war is going on

then Nothing Happens.

to the OP, if people are leaving in chunks like that, it's more a reflection of your clan then of the ones leaving. Everyone gets the occasional hopper but if you're getting up to 5 per war leaving, people just dont like your clan. You cant force people to like your clan. If you do not have any built in incentives for people to stay, why should Supercell program one in for you?

You are missing the two main points here. First, I jump between clans all the time to visit friends, donate troops to them that their clan doesn't have, share a replay or whatever. LOTS of players do this to visit friends or maintain multiple feeder/alliance clans. Any system you put in place to encourage staying will punish these players for being helpful. Any system you put in place to punish hoppers would also impact these players. The game simply can't tell the difference between their intent.

Second, re-read my first post. These are people who already don't care if they hurt you. If there is a penalty for leaving they will just force you to boot them. The internet does not improve the behavior of trolls. Never has never will. They just troll harder as they iron on their newest keyboard commando patch as an elite member of the chairborn rangers. Anything you do in hopes of teaching them a lesson just punishes the rest of us while they troll harder.

anyways this game should never punish you for not being in a clan or force you to stay in a clan. It just not good as someone may genuinely want to leave but suddenly cant and feel trapped.

You can choose who goes to war now. Don't put new members in. I have been doing this the last 3 wars and never had a single person in war leave
