5 PEKKAS?? Replace two of those with Giants instead. It wont be good as the golems but its better than nothing

There was 10 LVL6 giants aswell :) (they reached the core with the help of some wizards and BW really fast), but the pekkas took a tour (I wanted a 3* attack, the enemy wasn't too powerfull, the pekkas didn't died (had most of their power), but the time gone).
One thing to bear in mind in the whole AI discussion is that any slight AI improvement will drastically level the playing field skill/decision making wise.
The more you can just drop a troop and trust it get on with a specific job the smaller the gap will be between those who implement good strategy, timing and execution and lazy players.
I'm all for having to compensate for quirky/poor AI, as being able to account for it then widens the gap between me and nonthinking/lazy players who just want to train troops and win battles.
I don't mind the odd mental 'turning away from easy TH to attack a wall' as it means its soo much more likely that poorer players have this happen to them ALOT more!
Its game/luck management. The better you plan and execute the less it will effect an outcome of a battle war.
You need to learn how to funnel. If you can just drop them anywhere and they still go to the core all the same, then this game is pointless. You need to understand their behavior and come up with proper strategies (and fix the problems mid-air when your plan has gone south) to make them work for you. They wander off? Destroy the path of breadcrumb and force them to into the core. It's a strategy game. Your troops can't think, each of them only do what they are programmed to do. You, as a commander, have to do the thinking for them. Hey, they call you Chief for a reason, right?
Dragons and PEKKA are the top teir Elixir troops, their weird ♥♥♥ targetting AI is designed to balance them. If you were to change their AI they may become overpowered. There are effective ways to use both units, you just have to learn.
I've been using Pekkas extensively since I first got them. I get along really well with their AI with only one exception: skel traps.
I even use Pekkas to clear outside buildings before going into the core. This is very risky and can lead them to go around the base. But as long as I make the right cuts I can get them to go exactly where I want them to.
True that I had a few occasions where I failed to deploy properly and had them go merry go round the base. But those are very rare cases.
Pekkas are among the first troops I deploy. I don't wait until there's a hole in the wall. I break the wall with the right timing to get the Pekkas inside. The pekkas are the first troop to attack the buildings in the first/second layer of buildings. This reduces the risk on them getting sidetracked because they have a "fresh" breadcrumb trail to follow to the core.
The other thing I notice is that a bunch of wizards behind pekkas can keep them going straight. The wizards will clear the buildings at either side of the path, leaving pekkas no choice but to go forwards. This allows to carve a near straight line right thru most bases.
Similar thing with dragons. If anything dragons are even easier to predict due to being a flying unit, but they do tend to spread out more due to ignoring walls. The way around that is to use empty spaces in the base as a "walls" to path your dragons (even creating those empty spaces if needed).
But I stopped using dragons because I got bored of them. Also anti-dragon bases can be quite annoying at times. Better just attack via ground then.
only newbs think Pekka and Dragons AI needs improving
Skilled players dont complain cause they are skilled and learn how to use them....
