I do believe there was a bug in the "google play games" update that caused this issue, i tired all solutions but no luck as well, i still do have access to the last coc account i was on but its disconnected from google play, im trying to stay calm and hope the google does a quick update on google play app.:unsure:

3. Go to www.apkmirror.com and search for the PREVIOUS

Note: i asked you to check the version you have and the
last 3 digits after that, just for you to know that you
have to search for a version LOWER than that. You will see
a lot of lower version there. Look for one that has the
SAME LAST 3 DIGITS.
4. Download and install.
5. Open the game. HAPPY GAMIIIIING! ;)"
Had the same issue... not only do u need to remove the update for google play games also google play services needs to be removed as well... Then reinstall google play games, then reinstall update for google play services... Got my account back... about had a stroke.
i did the same as well and got my accounts back, but i had to clear data on both google play/services apps, reinstall & reboot my phone and boom!!! there were my accounts;). hope this helps as well.Quote:

I had this problem until I cleared the cache for Google Play Games and Google Play Services. By the time I was able to login tho I lost 1157 Dark Elixir due to a raid. I'm so mad, it'll take me forever to get that back.

I can switch to my other accounts again.
Guys try clear cache in google play service. Go to settings, then apps, google play and clear cache. For androinds) ive got my main acc back. Very happy 😎
