Hi! I just solved this pro myself. Main issue is Google play service. I upgraded service but till shown this error. Then I rooted my device and uninstall factory Google play service and install again latest play service
Now work same before. I think u should uninstall previous play service for new upgrade. I used titanium backup to completely remove factory play servise. And for root used framaroot . after uninstall play service just restart phone and install latest. Hope will work. U can use any way to remove old play service.

It works with the latest version now, is not because you rooted your device. Apparently Google already fixed it because it is now working in the latest version for me 2.

Old issue from March. I just got this, tried restoring google play, but it says I need the current version in order to play it.

I spent hard work, sweat and tears in to my village and this morning I tried to go to my main acount and the message came up it hurt me

Uninstall Updates for Google Play Services

try application settings, go to google play services. Hopefully you can uninstall updates and go back to the factory installed google play services.

This worked for me.
