Hi -
Is it practical to farm elixir in champs? I'm a couple months into TH10 (maxed TH9 including heroes/walls) and I'm wondering if I'll be able to get enough elixir in champs to finish my lab upgrades. My concerns are:
1.) Hard to make large elixir profit, even with 50% army
2.) Will get smashed when carrying large amounts of resources, even with farming base
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
Possible? Yes.
Efficient? No... there are plenty of more profitable ways to farm elixir. I'm fairly certain you could do better barching in gold or crystal or something.
Champs farming is great for DE, and pretty good for gold, but elixir is tougher. Even bases overflowing with gold and DE won't always have much elixir, and spell costs can add up depending on how many you can comfortably win with.
But I somewhat disagree about defense. In champs, if you leave your TH out there are plenty of people 3600-4000 who will gladly snipe you for 1 cup if they find you. Not always of course, but it could help.
All that being said, there's a lot of variability depending on your playstyle, your army combo, and how skilled you are at raiding. Might be best to just try for yourself and see if the profits you make are high enough to suit you.
I farmed 7 mil elixir, 11 mil gold and 55k DE in champ yesterday with all arch. Definitely possible, just gotta know how.
Also, need to set aside some time for it, I've switched how I play, I used to do 1-2 hours a day raiding, now I do 1 day with 4 hours raiding then two rest days, I'll still log in, but it gives me time to do other things.
I'd say yes, it can be done, but as an early town hall 10 just use BAM dropping cups from master down to gold. Quick to train and the minions conserve elixer.
Out of curiousity, how many spells do you use in an average raid like that? And are you boosting all barracks, heros, and spells, or just some of those?Quote:

I can usually get away with not needing spells, but I always have lightning if I need the extra %. Im at that point now where I can look at a base for 2 seconds and know whether I can beat it with arch. I've done it for sooooo long now.Quote:

And as I'm sure youre aware, most champs leave their storages exposed or close to the edge of the base, so I usually get a bit.
Its not uncommon to find a 400k storage raid, get 3/4 storages plus the loot bonus. So it does add up quick.
Much easier to farm lower leagues than in champion league. Champ league is extreme, you get your base wiped even with town hall out if you are worth enough cups.

I've done the all archer thing, and it works, but you have to be choosy. If you don't pick the right target, you'll be using up your Lightning, which burns through elixir, and makes you wait longer for the next raid.
I'm currently using lavaloonion, and if I look for bases with elixir, I can make a profit, but honestly, I'm doing it for the DE, which is incredible. I'm sitting around 3,300 troohies at the moment, with my TH out. More times than not, I get hit by a high level sniper for -1, meaning that I'm also saving elixir by not having to replenish xbows, not to mention what would otherwise be stolen.
