I think there should be an option to have defense and offence troops so when your base gets attacked your defense troops can fight for their base. Defense troops can only be used on your base while offense can be used to attack.

Nah, maxed out people would just fill their entire army camp with Drags and Wiz and set it to defense. 5 Clan Castle Wizards are already a pain...
A max lvl player could have an army of hounds in his army camps and have one in his CC. Attacking would be impossible.
