... I don't know how many times I hit [Next]. I've stopped counting. Likely a lot. As long as the 'Next-ing' is only a small cost for finding those good bases, I'll keep on casually tapping and grinding. Casually grinding all that loot, semi-boredly, watching TV, chatting, and letting my lap cat sleep on me warmly.
I think there is. Its the smart thing to do is the incentive. These things produce resources fro you even when playing. They go 24x7 when you sleep etc. And they are going to do that anyway so do you want them producing a little or a lot. I actually depend on my max ones a lot because good loot days have become so scarce.
Also, if you boost them it is going to be double whatever their amount is. So you are getting considerably more bang for the buck from the gems if the resources are maxed. In fact boosting without them maxed is wasting gem value.
I agree some incentive is necessary.
(btw, please use exclamation points less, it might irritate some people)
This thread is doing better at bring attention to the real issue of the resource buildings than my thread on the topic (http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...8Need-Ideas%29) :(
Thing is, there really isn't many changeable variables that can be done to the resource buildings. The things that keep me from seriously considering upgrading them is the opportunity cost of days spent on all of them for the resource gain they offed. Check out the wiki (http://clashofclans.wikia.com/wiki/Gold_Mine); at level 8 or 9 is where I think the cut off threshold is at for personal usefulness. Any more upgrading is a waste of time verse the same amount of upgrading time for other things that will net you more loot and loot protection.
Easy way to make them worth upgrading - reduce upgrade time.
The only reason I haven't maxed them out is because I'm not spending 5 days to upgrade from lvl 11 to lvl 12. I have more important things to upgrade first (like defences).
But that will never happen, as that's how SC makes their money.
If it isn't worth upgrading, why is it worth paying gems to speed up upgrading? They aren't making money from these buildings, or at least not very much, say verse getting that Air Defense up, or neat things like X-Bows or Inferno Towers. Or Town Halls for those rushers
I have maxed mines and pumps. I only upgraded them when i had builders doing nothing and digging their nose. And upgrading them is a long time investment.
Personally I think the problem is rooted at the fact that supercell keeps removing inactives out of the game, just as I was finishing my TH8 about 1 and half years ago I noticed a distinct drop in inactive bases, the economy of the game has been tinkered with too much and only seems to correct itself when the one gem boosts come out on holliday seasons, so I gues we all have to wait till easter, oh well not too long to go.
I am also currently farming in Crystal 2 and i have not really come accross an inactive yet.
