Thx for yr contributions to the community. I'm not that vocal, though had been following yr threads esp on def layouts. I've used the square type until TH6, i.e. put the things you want to protect in middle with mtr/WT, surround it with inner wall, AT/air def with some resource surround with segmented outer wall, and buffer zone. Doing well until TH7 attacked by mass lvl4 gob or lvl 5 troops. Now trying yr ideas.
Just a sharing. I farm to generate resource. At low trophy level, putting TH will deter ppl from attacking from that side. Another interesting element that can be added to luring/traps, and when upgrade important def structures.

This is pretty similar to something I was did in Excel. A little suggestion to make it easier to see what's going on if you want it is using colours on the map to make it a little easier to see what was what as well as the initials. I think I used green for resources, amber for army and red for defence. Just helps see whats going on a little quicker. Good work though.

What should I do to keep from getting defeated with the TH6 layout
Layout of your village will only help you a certain degree. It can guide attacking troops into hot spots, slow them down, etc.Quote:

Should one upgrade defenses and walls before upgrading the town hall?
IMO, yes. Max everything except perhaps gold mines and elixir collectors before starting your TH upgrade.Quote:

I have it setup exactly like the spreadsheet but keep getting attacked from the left and bottom... doesn't seem to be working very well. I have all purple cystal walls (sorry forgot what level that is) and as soon as they get in from the bottom its soon a flood troops that take over....
The attacks that really worked against that layout, I found, were Giant/healer combos. The Air was taken out quickly, then Giants would storm around the outside absorbing all the fire, while archers would pile in after.Quote:

@Von, I'm using TH7 B. I just defended two more battles too. Only bad thing is they are still getting my gold, so I'm going to have to make some changes. My trophies are going up fast though.
FYI, the spreadsheet doesn't have Town Hall level 9, and it's missing 3 rows/columns (should be 40x40).
Here's my TH9 that I just designed.

Note: The darker walls are my strongest, they are in places which would give troops access to more than one area if destroyed.
The defense tower positioning should make giants walk all the way around the inner circle before going after the X-Bow.
I force troops to path over traps.
The main storage is fairly well protected from goblins.
The resource collectors should force a single swarm of goblins to circle the entire village before going after the main storage.
The only thing this may be prone to, is archers stealing main storage.
Can you make a th 7?
@Troy. That's a pretty nice setup. I'll be sure to try it out when I get my TH to that level.

IDK man... doesn't seem to be working for me. last night I just got owned by some giants and archers from the bottom. First they sent in a few WB's and then came the giants. The mortars focused on the giants and then they sent it about 60 archers and took a good amount of my storage from the bottom. I guess I'm gonna try a differ layout.Quote:

Attachment 1797this is my new set up for townhall level 7. It works pretty wel for me but are there adjustments i further have to make? i know that i have to upgrade me defence..
It would be nice if you can update the TH7 according to the new changes. You can get 5 cannons and 2 teslas at level 7 now.
I dont actually know if this is new because I upgraded to 7 just yesterday and there isnt anything about this in the patch notes but I am guessing it came with the last one.
Thanks for all the work on the layouts. I was just wondering, I've read the thread and have seen people referring to multiple versions of particular th level layouts, for example th 7b or 8c.
I can only see a single layout per th level in the spreadsheet. is there something I am missing or are these references to th versions layouts I can view elsewhere?

I am at TH8, I noticed the central defence of MR, WT and AIR and next to one another. They will be quite weaker against opponents with lightning spells right?
I think you also left out the placement of the bombs and the third Hidden Tesla.
TH Lvl 8 now only gets 2 Hidden Teslas...unless you already had three before the last up date (like me :D ) So I've only put in two.Quote:

But I have one question, do I have to put my TH in the center of the map, or do I have to respect the same placement of the spreadsheet and put all my camp in the top right corner?

Am I missing something? I have a level TH, and I have two Tesla towers and 5 cannon's. However on the spread sheet it shows 4 cannon's and 1 Tesla tower for level 7 TH.
These bases were designed before the latest update, in which TH7 was given an extra cannon and hidden tesla.Quote:

Your design serving me well. So far I even had pekka attacks. They are the only ones who managed to get more than 50%.
I swapped the positions of the mortar and the wizard tower below. Also the DE drill and the cannon next to it. Work for me better.

That is correct. The latest update of CoC gives 5 cannons and 2 HT. bbodeg has not updated his plan yet to incorporate this. I made an adjustment to my village to account for these new items and am excited to see how bbodeg adjusts his plan.Quote:

I copied TH8... and i moved my tesla around a tiny bit and tweaked my big bomb and small bomb and trap placement.
i have successfully defended 9/12 attacks for a gain of 117 trophies
We all waiting for TH7 layout with 5 CNN and 2 HT ;)
