I have all of my teslas at 4 atm but I wonder if it's necessary, recommended, or totally optional to go to TH9 with level 4 teslas or if I should upgrade them. only asking because their costs and time have gone up rather significantly.

I would advise that you can move up now, it will be that much easier for me to take your loot.
Upgrade. They can have an huge impact on your defense. 4x lvl 6 = a looot DPS and then only need 1 more lvl to 7 which you'll be very satisfied with.
Well I can tell you one thing my maxed level teslas all bunched up are amazing!
Everyone makes the mistake thinking teslas can be held off on. They are your best defense! Cheap too! Upgrade them to level 6 and make them a priority for th9. Any attacker is in for a big surprise seeing lvl6-7 teslas pop up.
I highly suggest you upgrade them all the way. They are cheap just time consuming but IMO it's well worth it. At th8 they are your highest DPS defense
You should get all of them to lvl 7, lvl 4 is not good enough...
Level 20's should do the trick.

3 mil really isn't that much if you just farm with a purpose. I can see where it would be if you were a fairly inactive player that attacks maybe less than 5 times a day. Which in that case I completely understand.Quote:

Max it if you can still fight the urge of not upgrading to TH9.
I moved up with lvl3 teslas. I'm 2.5 months into TH9 and I still have lvl 4,3,3,2 teslas. Move up when you feel like it, as long as you maxed barch
TH8 move up to TH9, your L3 tesla will do fine.
Sooner or later when you upgrade to L6/L7, you will wonder why you didn't max the best defense so much earlier. :rolleyes:
Also, Tesla build time has been cut down. I remember before the update, need to wait 14 days to max at TH8 L6. L5 was 12 days. L4 10 days. Or so thereabout...
3M at TH8 is one of the most expensive ones.
3M at TH9 is one of the cheapest ones to max.
Wait till TH10 at 5M to max, that's nothing.
Well you'll need to max your barch as my lvl7 teslas 1 shot lvl7 arch >.< forgot to mention that part. All lvls except 5 telsa will 1 shot an archer of the same levelQuote:

Max them. I love them. When I hit TH9 one of the first things I did was get the new tesla started and kept a builder on it non stop. I will continue that until all are level 7. You really should constantly have a builder on teslas and air defense. They are time consuming but very worth it.
Most defenses cost around 4,5,6 mil when nearing their max level. They're cheap. Especially for how good they are.Quote:

Teslas are relatively easy to upgrade cost wise, there is no reason not to max them.

To the OP, if you can do them in TH8 is will make starting TH9 easier since you will have strong Tesla n A/Def and can bring your splash towers up with more priority and less builder time in days.

I went to TH9 with only level 4 teslas. I now have max teslas. Doesn't matter too much but if I could do them at TH8 I would
Teslas time and cost have to do with the fact that they are the highest dps single shot tower in the game. My lvl 3 xbows do 75 dps, but my lvl 7 teslas do 87 dps and 174 dps to pekkas. They are so crucial to good defense. The attacker doesn't even know where the highest damage dealing towers are....think about how much of an advantage that can be if your base is designed right.Quote:

The difference between a level 4 Tesla and level 6 Tesla is huge. Level 6 teslas can one shot up to level 6 archers. Put two together and you have another make shift air defense.
When I leveled my teslas to 6, that's when I stopped getting easy 3 starred in war and started to really be able to protect my loot. They are the best defense in my book. Definitely do not ignore them.

Ya, not sure why some of you think they are expensive and have increased in cost. They are one of the cheapest upgrades when you factor in time of upgrade. Also, didn't SC reduce their costs when the lvl 8 Tesla was introduced?
Don't neglect them. I look forward to upgrading them because I can upgrade all 4 at the same time and leave 1 builder free to focus on walls for 1-2 weeks.
