Custom Clan Ranks

I think it'd be a neat idea to allow clan leaders to create custom clan ranks to which he could divide his members into. Ranks could be made only by the clan leader, but the clan elders would be able to move members to every rank below them. The current situation does not allow clans to be too customizable.

Pros:

- This would allow clans to be more customizable.
- This change would cut back on the constant flow of people asking to be a clan elder (many of which have no idea what a clan elder is, they simply want the cool title).
- It would allow clans to be more organized if they wish to do so.

Cons:

- Offensive names of ranks could be used, so a filter would be necessary.

Any suggestions?

This is actually a great idea! Would be extremely useful in my clan.

This belongs in the ideas and feature requests sub-forum. It's a nice idea, but I wouldn't want to think of the different ranks my clan leaders would assign us, they're... imaginative.

I'm sure a mod will move it over soon enough, so don't fret. And yes I think this would be a great idea! I think that the thought of a possible promotion helps because that is when clan members will probably (if loyal) have that drive to donate and be active to get the promotion to clan elder, but whenever they do in fact receive that promotion, they might just think they don't have any reason to donate anymore, since they are only one below leader. Props on this!

This would definitely be a con. I suppose that there would have to be some kind of filter designed in it to prevent offensive words from being used in ranks.

This just seems like an open invitation for conflict. I think your focus should be to erase any lines of separation and creating a more unified environment for your clan and not segregating them into these ranks.

I disagree. I don't think that this will create conflict at all. I actually think that it will do the complete opposite. It will allow the clan's leadership to customize ranks and divvy up their members according to whichever criteria they may decide. Perhaps by level, trophies, or whatever else that they decide to come up with. This would give clan members some positive drive and purpose of being in a clan other than just donating and receiving troops, which in turn might make being in a clan more fun.

Of course, the rank structure wouldn't necessarily be mandatory. If the system were to be implemented, I would propose that creating clan ranks would be optional as not everyone may have the same taste in how they like to run their clan. :)

This idea actually came to mind when I realized how many of the clan elder "beggars" (so I like to call them) have absolutely no idea what the rank's purpose is. They just wanted the cool looking rank, whether it be a neat name or something different. Giving clans the ability to have custom ranks would cater to those people and presumably lots of others who are involved in clans.

If it would be customizable, you would need to choose the perks of each title.
