I don't know if it is made by an official member but the information there is correct and approved by the staff. I put below a message I got from Anoushka which proves the information on wiki and on my topic are correct.

Sorry if this has been asked but this thread is 25 pages long. Lol. I am the leader of a lvl 1 clan right now and we have 435 out of the 500 to lvl up. We are doing a 25v25 war this go around and im sure we will earn the 65 xp needed to be lvl 2. Does the xp we earn after that start in on our progress to lvl 3 or do we just loose it? Like say we win and get all 180xp. 65 will lvl us up to lvl 2 but will the extra 115xp start in on our jorney to get 1200xp for lvl 3 or no?

The experience from clan levels is not cumulative, each level will begin with a 0 experience, or with the remaining experienced from the previous level. If the clan wins +100 xp and the level requires only 50 more to upgrade, then the next level will get the remaining 50 xp.

I have to agree the title of the question was very explicit of its content. Edited the question 14 (now #15) to only explain what was answered, and added one more question to the FAQ section. The new number 14 only speaks about the remaining experience after a level up.
