Please allow Leaders selection of individual players Opt In/Out settings to stick reg

I think this update is awesome and I cant wait to take full advantage of it. However, there is one flaw I would like ot see fixed.

At the moment, a leader can only set everyone in the clans in/out status of war in the Start War button. However, if they change everyone status but then back off the screen without starting the actual war, all the changes are lost. In other words, everyone's status is what it was before.

The Leaders need the ability to toggle everyone's status and make it stick. We do not war every day and we anticipate that not everyone will be available for every war when we do. As a leader, I want to be able ot turn everyone's war preference to off after a war, and then ask everyone that wants to be in the next one to opt in specifically.

While this feature is truly awesome, there will still be some issues around managing that could be a little better. I think giving the leaders the ability to change someone setting and make it stick until the member switches it back should be allowed so that we do not end up with people forgetting to opt out of the next war and then getting kicked because they did not attack.

Anyway, yeah... Leaders should have the full control instead.

I'll second this request but would also like to add the following:

1. If the leader's selection "sticks" the player's preference should still be visible to the leader upon starting a war and if a player opts out then he should be out by default on the player selection page even though he may have been in the last war.

2. On the player selection page please display the last time that player attacked in a war. This will help leaders identify (temporarily) inactive players and exclude them from the next war without going back to past war logs, spreadsheets, etc.

I have to agree with this. Someone is going to complain the leaders should not have that power but they will silence that noise as soon as their leader kicks them.

In my clan anyone that does not set the button as instructed is going out. Anyone that leaves for vacation and forgot to hit it is going out too. And hero upgrades. So the penalty for not being right there online when I am starting war remains like it was. Going out of the clan. If SC thinks that is desirable so be it.

But its still an improvement. They may not have gotten rid of guys getting kicked from clans, but they did reduce it.

Yes, our clan would really benefit from this feature. I don't want to ask for much more since opting is already in-game (hooray!) but at the moment, the most efficient way is the traditional, ask everyone when the leader and the member happens to pop up online and chat; write it down physically; and remember to opt people out who didn't say anything/didn't meet leader.

So it's still pretty much inconvenient, but I appreciate how SC tried to make a simplified version of the two-tiered opting system.

As we are starting to manage multiple wars where different people want to war at different times, it is becoming more and more obvious that this opt in/out feature MUST have the ability for the Leaders to make changes to everyones opt in/out status outside of war and have those changes stick. We need to be able to reset everyone to Out so each new war we know who really wants in.

This new feature is not helping clans that dont require all members to war non stop as people leave themselves opted in from the last war when they did not want to be in the next one.

Please provide a solution to this urgently!

I definately think this is an amazing idea and a much needed one. As it is right now, everyone is opted in by default where it should be the other way around. At least that way, the leader can tell who is actually going to participate in a war by them changing their status to say opting in.

It is extremely difficult to tell if someone wants to be in the war or not because they could be inactive but still show as opting in by default.

This really needs to change.
So frustrating for leaders to coordinate a good fighting army of members

The problem with this suggestion is that clans that war back to back would never know who would go to war fast enough to get the war started again, making the entire system useless. You either want to be in or out as your desire, the leader and cos can override on game day. Thats a pretty simple system. If you missed attacks the previous war, we sit them out automatically on next war. If they miss completely or regularly, make a note to speak with them. If they aren't active enough for you to be able to talk about their participation then maybe the question should be if they should stay in the clan all together.

Not ot the perfect system but i doubt they could ever truly make a "perfect" system.

We could really use this and it would work great for back to back wars.

As soon as a clan is paired, leader sets everyone to opt out. Each player has at least 2 full days to opt in for next war.

That means, as a leader, I know that members explicitly opted in.
Right not we have an opt out system, not an opt in. We have to chase people to see if they really want in, or forgot to change setting.

In the limited time I have talked to people that do back to backs - they all agreed that for the most part they expect everyone in the clan to war every time as that is the purpose of their clan. They do allow some people to sit out occasionally but not often. So - in these clans - they have no interested in resetting the war opt in/out status.

In a clan where war is not the sole and primary purpose and they do not war all the time, this is killing us. Even opting someone out in the start war window does not stay in that setting. And those people dont realize they are opted back in for the next war because they were already out.

We need a way to reset everyone to OUT after each war and then everyone that wants in can Opt in. This will complete this half developed feature, which is great but is actually causing more strife than before because of the incomplete nature of it.

Right not we have an opt out system, not an opt in. We have to chase people to see if they really want in, or forgot to change setting.

I am in one of the clans that would not be helped by this (I run things a lot like you do). But because of the way they presented it nothing is being forced on anyone. it simply expands the choices of how different clans want to operate. They can be like us and never use it, or they can be like some of the others here where the leader can opt everyone out for the next war (can do this during a current war to use that time to prepare for next) and require them to all opt it. Or a leader that wants to can opt everyone in (personally I would not) and require them to re-opt out. The point is that this choice can be made individually by each clan according to their needs. So while I don't really need this (at least for now), I think it is a good addition and worthy of support.

Because everyone can tailor how they use it to their own needs it is as close to perfect as I think they can come.

I'm excited that even folks that dont think they would use this feature can see the value in it. It really would help a lot of clans in managing wars, keeping stress down etc.

Its funny - with this new opt in/out - we are doing 2 wars a week where before we did one a month. We are still learning and losing more than win at this point (due to more experienced clans) but are getting better. As we really get better, I can see us running a war non stop with anyone that wants in. Surely that was what Super Cell hoped for when putting this feature in?

Allowing the leaders to reset everyone to out each time so we can be sure who really wants in would, in my opinion, complete this feature.

This would be awesome for me. I always have to tell my clan to opt out, and it's a pain, since there are the people who for whatever reason don't opt out when I tell them to.

Maybe leaders should also be able to auto opt out players for not using their attacks

Why not automatically opt out all players that fail to use their attacks?

Under this scheme perhaps leaders could adjust the minimum attack threshold between one and two, and also turn off the feature if desired.

e.g., somewhere in the leader's war prep screens, add something like:

"Require opt in by players who attack fewer than X times in order to join a subsequent war"

Where X would configurable by the leader to equal one or two.

Wording could likely be improved. Just an idear

I agree of this change as well, especially since some players might no be able to access their account to opt out (network or game problems, etc.). That way, a leader can opt everyone out and only the truly active members get to opt back in. Either that, or reset everyone to out after a war, so everyone has to opt back in.
