New Troop: Angel
I began to compare what all the current troop have in common and figured we have 4 new slots available for dark troops. Although I think all the troops have just about covered everything from flying to ranged to tank types, the "Angel" seems to fit the archetype of the game.
So after doing a search and finding 33 threads with "Angel" in the title (I did not look through the threads just title "New Troop" or "I have an idea for a new troop"), I began to read them and some were duplicates, some were about "raging", some were too overpowering with special abilities and just about all of them had the title as "Dark Angel".
Here is what I came up with as a new troop suggestion.
Name: Angel. (No "Dark" in the name. We don't have Dark Golems or Dark Valkyries do we?)
Movement: Air 16
Targets: Anything (ground or air)
Type of attack: Melee (like the barbarian)
Cost: 600 Dark Elixir (+100 per level)
Damage Per Second: 220 (+30 per level)
Attack Speed: Fast (73 per hit)
Health: 2500 (+300 per level)
Housing Cost: 32
Training Time: 45 minutes
Special Abilities, Resistances or Weaknesses: None
Unlock: Level 7 Dark Barracks
Research: 80000 DE (10 days), +10000 DE per level, +1 day per level
Upgrades: Up to level 4. +100 DE per level, +30 damage per level, +300 health per level
Description:
Level 1: The Angel will look male with a large sword flying with 4 wings (kinda like the video games out there like Final Fantasy). White and red chain mail armor.
Level 2: White and gold scale mail armor. shimmering white sword.
Level 3: Grey and red plate mail armor. blue fiery wings. shimmering gold sword.
Level 4: Black and red dragon scale armor with red fiery wings and a flaming gold sword.
The idea behind this is quite simple. It really comes down to balancing the troops. It seems we are in need of another air troop. Too many are already with ranged attacks so melee seemed right. We have 4 tanks (pekka, dragon, lava and golem) but half of them target specific types so a target "anything" seemed right. High cost and housing seemed like a must. Any special abilities, weaknesses or resistances doesn't seem necessary. Everything seems to be slow for attacking so I figured a faster attacking troop will be nice. To balance the fast attack, I gave him a slow movement speed.
On a side note, being that there are 4 new slots available, I don't see how they are going to implement anything weaker than a lava hound without having to move the troops up or down in level in relation to unlocking them in the barracks. So I'm thinking the only way to go is up. Now if something like this is implemented, how are they going to develop a troop worth more than the Angel to be unlocked at level 8? And what about at level 10? If they get a new DE troop weaker than a Valkyrie but stronger than a Hog Rider, then will they need to unlock the Valks, Golems, Witches and Lava H at one level higher than it is now?
