Its nothing bad. When i read the post, i though it would be worse. The picture looks okay (feb 2014).
And yes, doing walls is a bummer. Ive done 130 legos (lvl9 walls) and it doesnt feel so rewarding. You need to do like 50 walls to see/feel a tiny difference ... Thats 50 million resources. I cant imaging lavas. 10 Walls will be 30million resource, but you dont see an improvement just yet.

There is nothing bad about rushing, except for your mindset. When you rush, you don't think of yourself as "catching up TH8 upgrades". Instead it should be "I'm doing TH9 upgrades while I'm pretty much still TH8". Loot penalty doesn't exist for TH9, you can farm as much or more than any TH8.
A maxer (truely maxed) will waste precious lab time at TH3-6, while wasting precious builder time at TH7-8. Making progress slow, requiring almost 8-10 months of play before reaching TH9 and spending 4 months there (not counting heroes and walls).
A rusher (maxed only farming troops) can max everything he/she needs at TH9, only requiring 2-4 months of play and will stay at TH9 for 6-8 months.
I say TH9 because its currently by SC's system and mechanics, the "Golden TH" to stay at. Because of infinite resource dumps (gold,lix,DE) and huge (almost 2-3x) increase in strength compared to its previous TH. If you stay at any other TH, you will always farm more than what you can use, so any "proclaimed" better loot at lower TH is nulled because you simply cannot use that loot.
Awesome! You remind me of myself, except not as bad. I upgraded to Town Hall 9 at level 52 and now I'm nearly done with legos, thank God lol. Way to not give up and push through!
How did you only gain 32 levels in an entire year?
I'm better than you because I got lvl6 troops when I was in lvl60's without gems.
That's really not that bad... you kept the game interesting for yourself. I went to TH9 at about the same point you did, and that was back in November. I'm now maxed x-bows, maxed mortars, all but one maxed wizard tower, troops are progressing along nicely and I plan on spending the next month or two getting my cannons and archer towers maxed or near maxed (as well as giving some love to the walls). After that, it'll likely be TH10 because having my builders go completely idle makes zero sense to me. That'll give me two weeks to farm walls up as far as I can and get loot saved for TH10 goodies.
So tired of the "rushed" and "premmie" ♥♥♥♥ people spew on here. What's the point of a game if you're not playing it your way and/or having fun at it? As long as you're aware of the risks/rewards of "rushing", do what's good for you.
It takes a year to learn and comeback from own mistake of rushing.
It only takes less than a day to learn from others' mistake of rushing.
Did the same mistake at th7 but fixed it up at TH8 and maxed it up. Maxed TH8 really smoothed my journey in early TH9. Anyway, centum fam also here :)
