Has anyone else noticed this ?

so ive been looking at lots of max bases and ive noticed that most of them (100% max including walls)have really square designs either 5 big squares or so ...on the other hand some that are close to max but arent have really sophisticated designs, let it be funnels, troll bases , etc

please let know if you have seen this down below..and why it happens :confused:

Because the majority of Max bases have been gemmed and their owners have no idea what makes bases work and what doesn't. Whereas those that are on the way to max are more likely to be farmers who have experience in the game. Obviously these are generalisations. There are a few max farmers and also a few gemmers who are very good but in the main this will hold true.

The square bases are popular at the moment because they are able to defend air well as well as ground attacks. The one or two wall squares with open centre tries to have troops go around inside the one inner wall instead of centre where town hall is. It's hit and miss though and you have to get lucky a lot of the time. As for lower upgraded bases having more sophisticated designs, it all depends on their cup levels and what they are doing really. Maxed bases only really care about cups as we have nothing to upgrade. Unmaxed bases are probably farming, if they have funnels etc its probably to protect resources rather than trophies.

More then half of max th's are gemmed so the players (even though they have a nice base) technically do not know the important aspects of the game. They suck at war attacks, building bases, and basic knowledge of the game. I would rather max a th7 and know the purpose of my base and why I have things where they are then be a clueless gemmer. Although there are good bases that are extreme butt hat is because they have learned the game while maxing and not just buying their level.

You are just playing a different game than them so your bases are different. Farm bases get flattened with heavy army combos and things like funnels are useless. They don't work at high cups. So when low league farmers look at top players bases they may think they look garbage because they don't understand them. The thing is, they are designed to defend the most common attacks where they are in trophies. If they had no idea what they were doing they wouldn't have high cups. It's also worth noting we hide our real bases. We only switch to our real base on defence then quickly change it back. This is especially true if you create a very successful layout. You don't want everyone copying it so it gets cracked so you hide the base you defend with now we can have several base designs...

Exactly the same reason why lower levels constantly copying the leaderboards bases is a waste of time.

I've actually found that the players that I know that skipped barching/mass arching/giant healer etc. seem to be good at Gowi etc because believe it or not spamming archers on a base to take collectirs and get 50% does not really help with using strategies like Gowi variants or lavaloonion.

The players that value their time more than their money do about gems and skip using barch and mass arch, so they can go straight to the end game without sitting on the game for hours on end spamming archers. These players know how to play with the end game strategies better than those maxed town hall 7/8/9s who haven't ever been high in trophies.

theres barching and then theres barching in champion league. try the latter and let us know if it requires little skill as u said it would be. fyi im the only one on my clan who barchs exclusively in champ. everyone else gowipes or lavaloonion. they all agree that the skill level required for barching is way higher at this level. we r not a top clan but i would say we can hold our own. check us out, we r Eternal Realm.

Man that must suck for your clan if you barch in war! I feel sorry for your clan! I mass arched for a while in champs so I know it's tough to do, I agree. But getting one star in champs vs getting 2-3 stars in war is different. Also im assuming that you aren't in top10 which means that saying that you barch in champs doesn't really make much of a difference.
