Selling Bacon and Eggs when over level 30.. Shame on you !!!

It always amazes me that hayday users sell bacon and eggs..... at full value.... when over level thirty...

When the newspaper shows every page eggs or bacon and eggs, i still flick thru to see if there are any other hidden goodies plus trees/bushes that need reviving... it's amazing how many users are over level 30 and only have bacon and eggs listed at full value with countless empty boxes.

I try to fill my boxes with saleable stuff, allow my gamecenter friends to have first dibs then after 20mins or so if no activity, then list for sale in the newspaper..

I can't remember the last time I found any Jams let alone juices..

I've also taken to culling game center friends (leetches) that "buy" from me, but always have empty stores.

Somebody always buys it, if not Tom or George will buy it.

Plus, sometimes you need to free up space in storage. Making/Selling Bacon/Eggs is one of the easiest methods to free up storage.

Bacon and Eggs ruin the newspaper for me quite often. I wish they would do something about it.

Maybe make the time to cook them longer or something.

I still don't understand the need to produce them in the first place. I have never seen a boat order for them and very few truck orders. Why not just produce bacon and eggs when you need them for an order? When I see plays over level 30 selling 10x bacon and eggs for full price, I wonder why they have 10 in the first place. Why waste the barn space? I've even seen high level farms with stands full of 10x bacon and eggs in every box. That's 100+ bacon and eggs. Why produce so much?

Im on level 47 and have never sold 1 egg yet.
My main beef is with pages of eggs and from day one I put this as a review on the Apple store and also sent this in via email.
I agree,if you must sell eggs to make room at least sell dirt cheap.
You should be able to use all your eggs to make produce on a medium to higher level anyway.

Personally I think that pigs are useless. The only time I ever use bacon is to feed my two dogs. I only have 5 pigs and see no reason to buy more. I never need to produce burgers or bacon and eggs. On occasion I need bacon pies but they also take a long time to sell in the paper so I don't produce them unless I need them. And also on occasion I need bacon for a boat order. Still. I wish there were more things to use it for. As it stands the things you can make with bacon aren't used very often and therefore no one buys them. I buy bacon itself from the paper more than things made with it.

I don't know why people continue to make bacon and eggs when they could make other things. I don't think bacon is useless however, as the visitors on my farm often purchase it.
I make just enough eggs and milk now to run my farm, instead using my feed mills to produce food for other animals.

The reason why people keep producing eggs and bacon is because the BBQ Grill doesn't offer anything better to produce.

First, there's pancakes is only worth 100 coins at max price and also needs brown sugar. With the great shortage of sugar, who would wanna invest their sugar in making pancakes when there's so many other better things to produce?

Secondly, we have roasted tomatoes that needs fresh tomatoes that takes forever to grow and then to roast then takes another 1.5 hrs and can only be sold for 118 coins at top price.

Thirdly, we have the burger (that I always produce when I'm not short on other stuff) that takes a whooping 2 hrs to produce and only worth 169 coins at top price. You need 2 loaf of breads there and sometimes your bakery is busy making other stuff.

Bacon and eggs only takes 1 hr to make and top price is set at 201 coins!!? Which is even more than the burger that takes double the time to make. Also, most people tend to have both ingredients needed to make it.


How to resolve the overflowing amount of eggs and bacon that keeps clogging the newspaper?

1. Lower their value. 75-100 coins at top price is more reasonable.

2. Lower ad time from 3 hrs to 30 minutes. The things that are high in demand will definitely be sold in minutes. 30 minutes is more than enough to get exposure in the newspaper. It's those darn eggs and bacon at top price that doesn't get sold and keep lingering around for 3 freaking hours!!

BBQ grill - why don't they make Hamburgers instead of bacon and eggs. or a pancake or two. I actually go through a number of burgers and pancakes. I rarely do the bacon and eggs thing.
Higher level players could be doing bacon pies.
Please can't they just to anything at all - just not bacon and eggs.

My other biggest complaint is the shortage of sugar, cream and butter. We need to be able to buy another sugar mill and Dairy.

I m at level 39 and I sell bacon & eggs but only for Greg, and I don't advertise them. I don't enjoy seeing them on the newspaper too so I don't advertise.

The reason for me making bacon n eggs compare to burger n the rest of the stuffs is due to my barn storage, when it's full, if I were to make bacon n egg, it will remove 6 items(2 bacon & 4 eggs) and that make rooms for me to pick up 2 chicken/cow/sheep/pig/goat feeds or any other items I need sitting around my farm waiting for collection whereas the rest require less ingredients:-

burger(remove 4 items but need bread roll which my machine seldom make and I seldom stock),
pancake(remove 4 items but need sugar which I have better use for other product)
tomato toast(doesn't clear my barn at all, takes tomato from silo)

So this is from a limited Barn perspective.

However you bacon and eggs theory - I think is faulty. Dumping 2 bacon and 4 eggs from your barn get rid of 6 items - why not just dump 10 eggs into the farm shop or 10 bacon into the farm shop. I am puzzled with your theory too. Why do you collect those eggs and bacon then? Leave them with the chickens and the pigs until you need to make those products that requires them. That way, you don't have those items hoarding your precious space in the barn.

Also shame on the players level 40+ who buy out your materials from your stall for the sole purpose to keep leveling up. Yet who never sell anything in their stall themselves. The stalls are for trading, if I'm missing an item I check friends stalls and vica versa. Also shame on high level players who have their stalls completely filled with full price wheat, c'mon it takes 2 minutes to grow. If your looking for building materials by harvesting crops, at least grow a variety.

I try selling a bit of everything or if I come across good stuff on ad I'll get it and put it up on my stall for my neighbors, normally just a bit under top price. I have this fixed price thing and rarely change my pricing. And there's this 1 neighbor with like 100 boxes in her stall and she always comes and clean my stall and put in her own for top price. So annoying!

His stall might not have any empty boxes left and he might rather buy pancake for 100 coins rather than using his valuable brown sugar when it can be used in making cake. He also might rather buy roasted tomatoes for 118 coins instead of occuping the BBQ griller for 1.5 hrs and he already explained he doesn't stockpile bread which you need to make burgers. Burgers take 2 hrs anyway. Just saying.

If I have abundant amt of eggs and bacon, yes, I do sell them in tens, that makes 20 space like you said.
But if I do not have so many, then selling them would be wasting the slots which I might need later on.

I usually save my eggs for visitors cos they fetch more coins.
I do sell eggs at base price - 50 coins (cos selling at max price means I will probably need to wait for Greg) and bacon at around 400 coins when I need that huge amt of space immediately, but that is provided I have that qty, else selling just a few eggs or a few bacon is just wasting the slots which I might need later.

On top of that, compare this:-

Having said that, I do make other products as well, burgers, pancakes, roasted tomatos when I have the required ingredients such as brown sugar & bread, and when I ran out of all those, I use what I have so that the machines will not be idle.

Well, that was what I did initially, leaving those eggs and bacon with the animals, but then I realized that picking them up increases the chance for me to get valuable building materials. And after picking them up, I need to feed them and that makes me grow more plants to make the feeds and again increased the chances of getting the valuable building materials while I harvest them.

I don't make that many bacon & eggs so I usually just use 1 of my slot for 10 of them and put them up for sale when I needed the space when my production Q is full. So, so far I only needed to deal with 1 slot which Greg will buy after one or 2 days, never try to keep the bacon n eggs and sell them altogether. I usually try to mix all kind of product for sales. So, can't ans your qns. Maybe after you experience, you can let us know. :)

Hahaha...I m guilty, :p I grow only wheat and sell only wheat when doing the HYPER HARVESTER II/III for harvesting plants, but I only sell 10 wheats at 1 coin....

I am level 41. I sell eggs and bacons set whenever i have them in inventory. I did an experiment selling that bacon and egg set and I noticed whenever I advertise they help move my other products. If I advertise say a spade it gets snap up and my other products don't move cos the advertisement ceases. Moreover I don't need to depend on greg to sell those bacons sets which shows there's a demand for it. Not to mention the higher yield on the BBQ pit.

That's why I sell them despite my level. Still I am not a fan of bacon and eggs set I only sell it when I happen to have spare which is usually less than 3 sets.

They buy the products to use for the truck deliveries. These are the players I see constantly sending their truck around but never put anything in their stall to sell. I guess once your item is sold its out of your hands what actually happens with it... But still frustrating that they don't contribute anything to the market. And my issue with the wheat is that they have all their slots filled with $36 dollar wheat. At level 40+.

Thats very true but when your selling the bacon and eggs it gets put in the issue of the newspaper that is pages after pages of bacon and eggs. I never have the patience to go through all to see what's in them. What I've noticed that works for me is that I will put a high level fruit at high cost, it doesn't sell right away so my items keep advertising. And when I go through the paper I always check out high cost fruits especially like cocoa or coffee beans cherries etc bc usually that seller has so,e high quality materials in their stall

:)The brown sugar part, true, I always use them on other finished product 1st, will only use them on pancakes if I have any extra.

I see, but that is normal, when I lack of something for my truck/boat, I search n buy.

As for these player not selling/contributing to the market, it might be a timing issue, say for example, I put up all my items for sales in the morning and you come after 3/4hrs later and all or partial of my items were sold to either friends/followers/customer from the paper, etc. Therefore you might not see it and you will probably think that this player don't contribute which might not be true, unless you have been spying on them, going to their store every 5 mins or so...:p else you will never know rite?

Another bacon and egg thread again? Sorry TS, but I do find your post title kind of harsh towards other players. They may have sell valuable items together with bacon and egg in their stall. And by the time you click on it, those valuable items may have been sold out. For some they choose to make them in order to earn more coins, others may just want to get rid of the excess to save their barn space.

WanNotTon, I agree, I often put up sugar and dairy products in my stall and they sell literally within a few mins! Visitors who browse my stall later might think I have only got boring wheat for sale, lol. I rarely ever put up eggs or bacon-eggs myself, too impatient to wait for Tom or Greg!

Same here, I always put different variety of products but those more popular items get sold off very quickly. Sometimes, I even sell 1 by 1 when I have the time and does not need to clear my barn urgently. Meaning I sell say 1 ice cream instead of 5 together, and after 1 player visit, bought that, I put up another one for the next player...hahaha....

Well what I noticed at my current level is that a lot of orders both truck and boat require fruits as a by product. Like juices jams or choc ice cream. I end up buying those instead of putting them on sale even when I have lots of trees and bushes. Eggs and bacons just help to keep my space in advertisements and to begin with I don't have a lot of it. While I hate flipping thru bacons and eggs, I really hate it, I see enough people having the patience to snap up my products as well as my eggs and bacons. I guess I don't want to go against what brings me coins the fastest way even if it may annoy some people, myself included.

I have 2 pig pens but I do think I need those. However I haven't bought the 3rd yet. But I usually do need the bacon that those 2 pens produce. One of my last boats wanted hamburgers and the boat that is at my dock right now wants bacon too. 4 crates at 5 pieces a crate. The rest of it I usually sell to my farm visitors and use to feed the dog. A couple of times a day a visitor will walk up and ask for bacon.

Also I have had a couple of boats wanting bacon & eggs or plain eggs but not very often.

So true. So many of my friends have nothing for sale ever because when I'm getting ready for bed at night and filling my last boat order, everyone else is either asleep or just waking up. There's a very small window during the day when my friends have valuable items in their stands. It's kind of a bummer but I understand. I'm just unlucky cause I live in Alaska :p we're so big we used to have 4 time zones just in our state alone. Haha

but yes, everyone has their own strategy and if some people want to sell bacon and eggs, that's their prerogative.

I understand your point. However I do think we will just see something else overflowing the newspaper. Since they introduced the muffins they have almost become the new "bacon & eggs". I think I am at that point that I am almost convinced there will always be something in abundance in the paper. No matter how they change production times or product values. I believe the end result will be that we see something else replacing the bacon and eggs and we all will be having the same discussion on that particular item again.

That is why I collect the animal products whenever I can. Also collecting products like animal feeds increases the chances to find those valuable items. A lot of times my visitors will ask for eggs of bacon.

Shamefully I must admit that yesterday I really had barn space issues and needed to dump 10 eggs. I haven't sold any eggs or bacon & eggs in a long long time but yesterday I really had a problem and did sell 10 eggs. I dumped them for a total price of 10. :o

I'm going to sell nothing but eggs, bacon, and bacon and eggs.

Ah that is how its done.. But why do they want to level up this fast ?
I recognize the problem though I have a neighbour like that. When they visit my stand they'll buy everything there is. But there is hardly ever anything usefull in their stand. On the occasion that there is, its at max price. But mostly its crops at max.. I am actually wondering if I should keep them as a neighbour.

There is a difference however in finding a stand that has a lot of empty boxes but still several different items left even completely empty or finding a stand that has a lot of boxes left filled with crops at max price. In the case of the crops you do get a feel for what they are selling and what not. And there are those that empty your stand to see them adding the same stuff to theirs at max. Off course its part of the game, but why does someone at lvl 45+ need to do that ?

That's true but there are cases where I accidentally used up all my wheat or any other crop and needed to replenish them quickly, so finding 10 of them though charging at max of 36 coins, I will still buy it, I guess when there is a demand then they see no reason to stop, and if they did, I would be stuck without that particular type of crop.

I always sees that but I think this is part of the game, you sell cheap enough for another player to buy and sell at their store to earn, you then create more sales cos more players will buy from you, not just to those needed your products for their boat/truck. Just like in real life, we have whole seller and the retail shops rite and the retail shop will probably get their goods from the whole seller at a cheaper price.

As for these player not selling/contributing to the market, it might be a timing issue, say for example, I put up all my items for sales in the morning and you come after 3/4hrs later and all or partial of my items were sold to either friends/followers/customer from the paper, etc. Therefore you might not see it and you will probably think that this player don't contribute which might not be true, unless you have been spying on them, going to their store every 5 mins or so...:p else you will never know rite?

And I check my friends stalls occasionally, this one particular person (lvl 60) has only put up ONE item I've ever seen and it was wool max price. Point is, what's the rush? It's not a race. Economy works by us all contributing to the market. I may just delete this person and quit the rants :p

Off course it is part of the game and it resembles a real life economy. But players at level 45+ don't have much left to buy and don't have much left to do other than leveling up. That is why I am having difficulties understanding why they sell everything even crops at max. Somehow I would expect the higher level players to act more as a whole sale store and people at lower levels as a retailer.

I always sell everything at max, because why not?
But I'm not completely heartless, when I see a stand with very few slots that s full, I will often buy everything jus to free up their slots. I remember having a small barn/ shop/ silo, and how frustrating it was!

Honestly I really don't know. I do sell a lot of items at or very close to max. But I was still thinking of an example where a friend bought a berry cake for 245 to resell it at 255. I mean 10 gold ? really? They are really doing this for 10 gold ?

Maybe your friend sold his/her berry cake 1st, then saw you selling yours and since he sold his and has space in his/her barn, he/she might figure why not? OR he/she sold his/her 1st then realized that he/she needs it but instead of wasting the diamond undoing it and not getting back the cake, he must as well buy it when he sees it at your store. Well, unless you checkout his/her barn b4 he/she bought the cake from you else who knows? OR he/she wants to increase the variety of the products he/she sold but not so much on the 10 coins he/she will make?

I do both. I buy from others to increase variety in the products I sell and I buy items sold cheap to earn more coins. Even 10 coins can be worth it. Some of the machines are so expensive and if you can sell ten items that you bought for 10 coins off that's 100 coins profit. I personally need coins more than the items. Plus my friends benefit from me collecting a variety of items.

That would be possible, however the friend in question emptied my stand a couple of times already a particular day. At one time I was adding more and the friend was there again buying everything. So I was kind of curious and immediately went to his or hers stand and saw him/her adding the stuff they had just bought. That's a little too much of a coincidence in my book.

Ok the variety is a good point. I haven't given this idea much thought yet. I do think that the coins depend a bit on your level. There aren't that many makers left to buy at a 40+ level.

2. Lower ad time from 3 hrs to 30 minutes. The things that are high in demand will definitely be sold in minutes. 30 minutes is more than enough to get exposure in the newspaper. It's those darn eggs and bacon at top price that doesn't get sold and keep lingering around for 3 freaking hours!!

I agree with this! The only reason why people actually make bacon and eggs is what this user listed above.

I used to sell Eggs, and Bacon and Eggs until I was level 20 something and realized that no one buys them and I saw sooo many of them. Nowadays, I also do what the original poster does, go through these Bacon and Egg sellers to see if there are any plants need reviving, and all I see is Bacon and Eggs even for level 47+ players!

I mean, I'm not going to complain to the fullest because it's their shop and they can list whatever they want, but the abundance of Bacon and Eggs and Eggs is rather annoying. I see Hamburgers being sold a lot too, but Hamburgers require bread which takes time to make in the BBQ Grill. To me, the BBQ is the one building that I least use only because:

1) Brown Sugar for Pancakes is not worth using Brown Sugar for.
2) If I want to keep my queue busy while I sleep (so I can sell things in the morning), nothing in the BBQ Grill takes more than two hours to make. This is good and bad.
3) I love making Roasted Tomatoes is my favorite, but like stated above, tomatoes take too long to grow and run out too quick.
4) Hamburgers are the alternative to making Bacon and Eggs, but you'd have to make bread first. Hamburgers, I see more often in boat orders and trucks. I barely ever have boats or trucks ask for Bacon and Eggs.

I stopped making Bacon and Eggs ages ago and haven't needed to "use" eggs and bacon. I feed my dogs with the bacon, make Bacon Pies, or just sell the Bacon themselves. People actually buy. Many truck orders ask for bacon itself too. Eggs, I haven't fed chickens for a long time until muffins were released. Now, I use my eggs on Muffins.

If I do run out of space to store eggs, I sell 10x for like 30-40 coins and nothing higher.

I AM ALSO TIRED OF LEECHERS TOO! I appreciate all my followers that I can't follow back. I wish I could just follow them all back and make them neighbors, but it doesn't work that way. I help my followers fill in boat orders, buy from their shop, water their plants, etc. It's a win-win for both because I have plants that need watering, I sell a variety of things, etc. But I have people level 10-19 following me with empty shops all the time, and I always wondered, *what's the point?* I also have Game Center friends that added me and are like level 13 also.

When I was a low level player I had hardly anything to sell. I was using everything I produced and often times running out of even basic things like wheat and corn. So I understand that many low level players don't contribute. Low levels are concentrated on leveling up and and filling truck orders which require lots of basic materials. They often depend on other players to buy those basic things off of. I have many of these lower level players as friends and while they don't produce anything now, my hope is that when they get higher they will contribute and until then I'm willing to help them get there.I wouldn't call them leeches. I would call high level players that never sell anything leeches because they have the capability to produce and sell. Bt then again I also understand that higher level players don't need money and you don't get anything else from the stand. There's no incentive.

I often buy things that are in demand without even looking at the price.
I don't necessarily need the item, I just want to put a variety of things in my stand so when nbrs visit there is a good selection. I very rarely advertise.
I don't buy all the things from a stall normally, just one or two items unless I really need them.

Hey, I wonder if this thread is working? I do see more variety in the paper over the last 12 hours. There are still eggs and bacons & eggs but a lot less (about 40%?) and more variety now. And 2 of my ships asked for bacons & eggs.

Sometimes, I suspect what you have on your stand affect what you see on the paper. I put up 10 mallets, 10 deeds, 2 saws, 2 axes, 1 TNT and 1 explosive. The good variety paper lasted for a long time. This is not the only time it works this way for me. Well, it may be just coincident but whenever I put up the tools for sales, I get good papers.

Anyone with similar experience?

I did read your thread about the muffins being the new Eggs and Bacon, however I was too lazy to write an essay about my 5 cents on the matter.

In my opionion the muffins can't be the new egg and bacon because that would mean less eggs and bacon which is not the case since they aren't produced by the same machine and won't overlap. Muffins are more like eggs and bacon's new annoying BFF.

Ofcourse it's inevitable that there's always gonna be some item being over-produced but the real question is WHY, OH WHY? Because that item is by horse mile still the most profitable or convenient to produce even though it's on low demand. I already gave a Thorough rant about ehy people chooses to produce eggs and bacon over the other items on the BBQ Griller. Muffins are now definitely the most profitable item to produce on the bakery in consideration to their 45 minutes' producing time and the very basic ingredients they require.

The problem lies with the developer, Supercell, that needs to tweak the game better and create better balance between the items within every machine.

I don't mind low level players, I just don't like leechers, but even if I dislike it, it's going to happen so I deal with it. I guess here, what's useful to one player may not necessarily mean it's useful to another. There were times where I needed berries, Jalapeno popcorn, hamburgers, bacon and eggs, etc., so yes, there happens to be people who buy a lot of stuff that everyone has a lot of. A lot of players that are low level that follow me are barely active, but some are, and being that many of the items in my shop are above their level (which means they can't buy or sell or produce them), I don't see the point of them really following. I guess sometimes I put very inexpensive crops or something.

So yeah you're right. I've seen level 30+ people buying my cakes and juices but they never have anything in their shop. As a follower, I feel like they lurk to buy my items (can't really complain about that), but I feel worse if they are an actual Game Center friend who adds me and I accept, but they never sell anything. I'm glad I made the money, but I wish at times when I needed these things, they would be there for me too. But too bad that's not always the case :(

I posted on Hay Day's Facebook page to add me on Game Center if you sell a variety of items and I also said I sell things other than Bacon and Eggs. I had 5 requests and I think 2 shops were empty, and 3 had maximum priced wheat with 5 slots of Bacon and Eggs. All players were above level 30.

I'm at level 40 now and I'm always selling items. When I'm trying to level up, though, the items I sell aren't as good because I hang onto the things that are harder to come by so that I can use them in my shipments. However, when I'm saving up for something, I sell like a fiend and barely anything stays in my barn.

I usually only sell crops/fruit/cacao when I have too many (I have also figured out that if you harvest more you get more tools and supplies) and I rarely make bacon and eggs.

I have bought things and resold them because like it was said above, I also buy good things automatically without looking at the price and then sometimes I find I may not actually need them, so I'll just resell. It does give good variety to my followers. I do also resell at a profit if I find well-priced goods. I agree with Tinkerbell - why not? When that's the case I usually try to fill crates or revive trees for people I bought from if I can, as a sort of thank you. I think it's a good idea to buy out low level stalls to help and am going to try to do that more often when I can.

I've been wanting to say this for a while and I will now: I don't know why people get so upset with resellers. If someone buys something a seller has put up at a certain price, why should the seller care what the buyer does with it afterwards? The buyer has paid what the seller asked for. If the seller is upset that the buyer is reselling it, especially for more, then the seller should raise his/her prices because the market clearly would support it. If the seller has other reasons besides profit for pricing under the max, they can't realistically hold some random buyer to the same philosophy.

Anyway, it's not like someone can just raise the prices and be guaranteed a profit on resale. It's just a matter of knowing the market and what items will sell for max price and what items would sit until Greg has to buy them if you price them at max. I try to know the market for items and try to price pretty carefully. If it can sell at max, I will put it up at max. If it's a common object, I will price it significantly under so that it doesn't sit. I do understand being frustrated with people who never bother selling items, but I guess everyone just plays differently. I don't do that, but those players support the market in their own way, I suppose, so what can you do (besides delete them if they're a GC friend and it's bugging you).

I also like the lower level players that are my friends or are following me. Lower level players don't need land expansion so much but they do need the gold. Since these items are the most expensive they can sell and have plenty of space at this point in the game they sell them more often. Lower level players also sell more sugar and dairy as they don't have all the machines yet which need it. Ideally I like having a selection of high, middle and low level friends. This enables you to find a wide variety of items.

I think we should accept we will always have a "bacon & eggs" in this game. If they change production times or pricing it will just be replaced by something else. Then we would have lots of threads saying we are fed up with X, Y or Z. I think we should just accept it as a part of the game and move on.

I would also like to say that I don't have a problem with resellers either. Everyone has a right to play this game however they want to, there are no rules, but things you do may help or hinder your progress in the game.
For eg, if you want to sell nothing but bacon and eggs and eggs in your shop that's fine, but you will not have many visitors to your farm, and probably not as many good nbrs.
And once I've placed an item in my shop, i consider it no longer mine. It makes no difference to me what happens to that item once it is sold.

*rubs hands together* Oh boy, I might be late for the party-but since you all are discussing somethings I've been thinking about, I hope you don't mind me jumping in.

I have lupus-and am undergoing a flare-which means my physical activity is very limited. Books, TV, my old game, all that became boring and then I found HD. I am able to spend much time playing. Don't worry I'm getting better though! ;)

Anyway-I have some thoughts that you all have touched on. With the help of some wonderful people, and my many hours playing I am on level 33-not sure if that is fast for playing about 3 weeks-but it seems to be.

I am a reseller! Since I can be on more often then my neighbors-if I see an interesting item (especially from someone that rarely sells them) I will grab it and resell. If they have it at a low price, depending on what the item is, I might raise it. When I first started playing I did that to a neighbor and they even made a forum thread about it, but my thoughts have changed since then. Why should they care? I don't think Greg has ever bought anything from me, so something must be working-my stalls usually sell out pretty quickly.

I tend to sell low-except for the popular items, and yes, then I immediately see the same lower priced item in a neighbors stall for higher price-great for them! I hope I am helping them out. As another poster said, win-win for both of us.

Also as someone else pointed out-leechers come in high and low levels. Low levels I can understand-as someone else said, sometimes they are just trying to maintain a farm. High level leechers seem different to me. Someone who has commented a few times on this thread opened my eyes to something. A player can be useful in many different ways-as we know. They can buy your stuff, sell stuff, water your trees/bushes or load your boats. While I don't think I'm anything great-I have started deleting people-especially high level players who don't "give back" somehow. Yesterday it was a level 55 farmer-Yikes! Who am I do to that! LOL.

To go on topic though-I will say this-inside trading is STILL more annoying to me then eggs and bacon. I haven't said anything snarky about inside trading for a few weeks now-after the above mentioned farmer opened my eyes about even inside traders being useful. I still wonder though-why should someone that doesn't sell anything useful back benefit from my searching for items? They don't. I'm sure lots of people inside trade that I don't know about, I don't care that much. BUt if it is obvious that they do-and they aren't helpful in return, I do delete them. What's the point in being their neighbor? I give them land expansion items, building material, juices cakes and now ice cream and they give me wheat? Now having said that-I do have a few neighbors that do inside trading, but as I said, they sell some useful items, or help fill boats-that may actually make me a hypocrite! So I am "growing", LOL. I do not say this to "inflame" or anything, just my thoughts.

I will sometimes resell items if I find a real bargain, but I also sell a lot of my items well below max price. In fact, there are very few items that I sell at max price, and that is only because they go in minutes no matter what price I set them at. I have in my head a sort of "fair market price" so most things.

What I sell at max price:
Processed Sugar
Processed Dairy Products
Building and Land Expansion
Saws, axes, and explosives
juices, jams, and ice creams
Cream cakes and red berry cakes

I sell these at max price because they are valuable to me--they come up often in truck orders or they are necessary to make other items. So I figure if I am going to sell them rather than use them, I should get max value for them.

All the other items I sell for cheaper than max price. For instance:

Sugar cane: 10 at 70 coin (max is 144)
Soy beans: 10 at 50 coin (Max is 108)
Wheat: 10 at 10 coin (max is 36)
Bacon Pies: 175 (Max is 219)
Sweaters: 110 (Max is around 150)
Blue Sweaters: 130 (Max is around 180)
Meat Pies: 175 (Max is 219)
Blue Hats: 99 (Max is 111)

(I won't list my prices for everything because I don't want to bore anyone)

I end up selling out of even my must mundane items quickly because I price things fairly. Not super cheap, but fair. I expect that a lot of my neighbors probably think I don't carry things in my stall, even though I post new items to my stall multiple times a day since it always empties out quickly.

I'm curious what other people think are "fair market prices" for things.

Kendra, I LOL'ed at how you started your post! Glad I'm not the only one who had something to say on this topic. Sorry to hear you're sick, but glad to hear you're getting better! I think it's fair to expect your neighbours to do something helpful for you, whether it's to sell you goods, fill your boat, or revive your plants. If they're not doing anything that benefits you, I don't think you have any obligation to keep them around.

Jninetyeight, my approach is pretty much like yours and actually my prices are too. The only thing I wanted to add was that I usually sell all my cakes at full price, not just the two you listed. I also sell apple pies and feta pies full price too. I have found that some goods have gone down in my pricing because they're just not in as high a demand as before, like the other pies (carrot, pumpkin, bacon) and anything that comes off the loom. I wasn't pricing them at the max before, but they're even lower now than they used to be or they sit for a while (though someone still buys them before Greg gets to them). Any crops or plants that I sell are never at full price.

I have also noticed several people in my friends list whom I know for a fact trade on the forum that I have never bought from because all they sell is wheat or other non useful items. These players have never had expansion items, ice cream, cakes, sugars, or dairy for sale in their stand and I check pretty frequently. I've considered deleting people like this as well. While I can't stop people from trading on the forum, I don't see the point in keeping friends who never sell useful items in their stand and whom I know for a fact are selling their valuable items to others that don't include me simply because I haven't asked for them on the forum. These same people come and buy things from my stand so I do often feel like its a very one sided friendship.

I don't think you might be a hypocrite by keeping helpfull or usefull friends around. Why shouldn't you keep them around ? You are probably usefull for them as well, in that case I think it works both ways.

I'm currently 10/12 on my way the 12 boats in a row, finding those elusive items to enact the 12/12 boat achievement is what tipped me over to my original rant about bacon and eggs in the newspaper. Once the achievement has been done, I'm going on a selling spree to cash up for the Jeweller building so goodies galore.

I really appreciate the GC friends that have been helping me load my boat hence why I return the favor if I can with their boat loads.

i think the 12/12 achievement is probably one of the more frustrating ones to do..

Generally speaking, It is no secret I have been trading actively on the forum for land expansion stuff and I probably don't sell as much building supplies that is true. But I try to sell cakes, pies, juices, ice creams etc regularly. Dairy and sugar I hardly sell at all. I have my sugar mill and dairy plant producing all the time when I can but I seem to use all the sugar, cream, butter and syrups all the time and even buy some when I can find it.

I try to sell a variety of items but I do have a hard time restocking regularly. I can't keep up with making items. Whenever I have filled my stand the items are sold within 20 minutes or less even without advertising. I don't advertise very often because I would like my friends to come in and choose first. When there are items that have been in my stand for a few hours I run an ad in the paper.

Since I mentioned the trading thing I should also add that I am almost done with my land expansions. Soon I will no longer have to trade the items and have no use left for land expansions and will also start selling more land expansions and building materials in my stand for my friends.

That being said I wonder what you all would think about this idea ? Would it be a good idea if they added a button to yours and your friends road side stand where we could see a list of items and quantities that you or the friend you are visiting have sold in lets say the last 24 hrs.

Stop trolling the newspaper with bacon And eggs, seriously over 30's sell things that only 30's can get for full price so that those who cannot afford to buy the machine themselves will just buy off you.

Seems like a lot of people are ranting her about both the bacon and eggs issue and a lot of other off-topic issues and honestly, I love it. I find it very refreshing to read other players opinion whether I agree or disagree. Before this thread, I found the forum very formal. Very little disscussion, mostly trading and requests.

I saw there's opinions about inside trading. I'm not sure about what it means exactly but I'm quite sure I'm doing it LOL. Like trading stuff at the forum or through PM right? In my opinion and offense I honestly think trading expansion parts for other parts is nothing but positive. We all wish for more space and we all seem to have eadier to find certain parts over others. Before I joined the forum I have over 100 screws and almost 90 planks in my little 300 spaced Barn. I barely had space to have a variety of foods in there less alone stockpiling. I guess I also have some sort of understanding for people saving valuable items like juices and cakes if they have the space for it and might exchange them for other valuable foods that are hard to find.

What I really do hate (and maybe I'm being overly dramatic about it or maybe I just hate to part from my expansion parts that extremely much) is when I'm missing foods for a boat shipment and I'm asking for help or offering to buy for top price or/and offering other foods in return and people PM me offering to trade against expansion parts. I've seen a certain member on the forum do that a lot. Eyeing people that are desperate to complete their boat shipment and PMing them offering to trafe for their precious parts. I think that's a little bit too much and "loanshark"-ish unless the person eho needs the food themselves write that they do offer it.

Bottom line: Don't tell me how to play.

If I want to sell eggs. Imma sell eggs.

OK-so I haven't learned how to use multiple quotes on an iPhone-so I'm going to do it the old fashion way!

Your also the first inside trader that I was/am neighbors with that actually does sell stuff-and you also sell building supplies like you said you do occasionally! Five other people that WERE my neighbors didn't. Their stalls were filled with wheat and corn. Very helpful when you need it-but not for much else.

Of course I'm not neighbors with everyone-so I hope no one thinks I'm lumping all traders into a "bad"

I agree kendra1168. Just because some of us don't want to trade doesn't mean that others can't do it. But when you do choose not to and all your friends do it does put you at a disadvantage because many neighbors in fact don't do anything but trade and don't sell useful items in their stands. This is why I would like to see it built into the game rather than through the forum because it could be made easier.

as I've mentioned before, since players live in many time zones, trading through pm puts those who don't have time to virtually meet up with people to trade at a disadvantage like myself. I often need items at night before I go to sleep and often times, many other players are offline either sleeping or at work. I feel like its not worth even getting into because I would never be able to meet up to trade.

with a system like leaving items up for trade that could be done at any time of day, this problem would be solved and I wouldn't mind trading with other players. For instance a list of items you need or being able to put up things for trade if the criteria you set is met ( only trade 1 cake for one mallet...etc)

i know this is a bit off topic. Just thought I'd add my two cents on the issue. I wouldn't have as big of a problem with neighbors that did nothing but trade if everyone else was on equal ground. Otherwise many of them never put up anything I need and it feels like its not worth having them as a neighbor (especially if they buy my expansion materials and then use them for trading) in which case I would not benefit from the friendship at all.

and by the way, kendra1168 you always have tons of good stuff all the time in your stand. You're one of my best neighbors :D

Thank, I consider it a nice compliment if you don't mind. :) I am glad that you did see I was selling building material too. As I said I have a hard time restocking my stand and the building materials I do add are usually gone within 5 minutes even without advertising. It's almost impossible to imagine.

But then I add the crops at rock bottom prices. A while back I sold lots of soybean for a couple of days. 10 soybean for 5 gold (no, not each) while max is 108. Just wanted to move them quick to empty the boxes again and they literally flew of the shelves. Some were reselling them at higher prices but hey that is their prerogative. :)

If you do want to trade - and I am not saying you should, I mean everyone should decide for themselves how they want to play - but if you do I think you would be able to find other people that trade at a time that is convenient for you. Yep, I'm the player kolonstje was referring to from new Zealand. We have enjoyed many happy trades despite our opposite time zones. And believe me, we in new zealand would be the most disadvantaged by time, as we are miles ahead of anyone in the world when it comes to time.

i happened to be one of the "leeches" unfortunately. but i don't have a choice since i'm at level 23 currently and need alot of money. i understand that the mine requires 26,000 coins to repair and i still haven't gotten the cake oven which is 14,000. i don't usually have empty store though, since the only way i can earn is to buy low and sell high.

Bacon and eggs is the most cost/time effective thing the BBQ can make.
it helps u get rid of eggs u dont want to sell anyway.
and most important - ppl dont buy it quickly, that how you have alwais traffic in your store.
even after 30 minutes when i have a new ad, most of the times the first still runs, than you get more ad space (i think you show up in the same newspaper tho)

well...i think those are the main reasons...

I had about 830k coins when the tractor was added to the inventory. I was starting to get a bit fed up of the game, boats were boring, all my expansions were done (yawn) and I hadn't sold anything in my stall for months as there was no point as all I got was more gold for it, no xp. But along came the tractor and since then I have every machine running around the clock and load my road side stall a couple of times a day with everything I make. It only makes sense to have the BBQ making bacon and eggs as it has such a high max price and for some unknown reason it always sells! So I load my stall with goodies - give it 30 mins or so for my neighbours to swoop and then I advertise either the eggs, corn bread or wooly jumpers that are left and they go within the next 30 mins - every time.

Why people need the B&E I don't know, but I'll keep selling at max price if they keep buying.

I'm at 1.3m gold coins now. Hoping for tractor by the end of the week! Woot woot! It will probably take me months to make my money back...

I think the answers on this thread explains very well why people make BnE to sell even at higher levels. Why not? I'm saving up for the tractor and it is the most profitable thing to make in that machine which doesn't eat up sugar or dairy or take up another machine like the bakery to make bread.

Plus it frees up 6 spaces In the barn. Who doesn't want barn space?

It is the way it is designed. I don't think players should be put to shame for it.

I agree Swisspie, your point of view is right. The problem does not come from the players, but from the developers/designers. We asked them from longtime to make some changes with the boat orders, too often we have to fill crates with sugar or dairy, but rarely with eggs or bacon eggs, since I'm playing, only one time I had to fill my boat crates with egg and BE, but I have sugar or dairy in almoast every boat, same for my friends and followers.

About the newspaper, of course we have too much eggs/bacon eggs, but we also find too much strawberries, I think strawberry jam could be a good way to use them, but, of course, the time production of all the jam must be reduced to keep the game interesting.

Interesting thread. I still think of myself as new to hayday, two weeks in and level 30. The boat seems weird to me, so much dairy and sugar, and i have only sent it off four times. I am happier making all the items and selling them on, not bacon n eggs, i get rid at low price to offload the eggs. I like making the juices, cakes and pies and flogging them, nearly always at less than max price as I'm in no rush to progress.

The newspaper irritates though, stacked with bacon related produce and BEMs etc go sooooo fast.

Ah well....

I make B&E and put them in my store at full price...for Greg to buy! It's a 2k boost once a day (money still matters, I have factories to buy!) they live at the end and I NEVER advertise them. I have seen them needed for boats (once) and the occasional truck. It's easy money with very few ingredients needed. While all the B&E in the paper is irritating, I think of it as idiot detection and ignore them. Perhaps if we boycott B&E advertisers they will stop.
