Would appreciate any help regarding farming as a TH7, specifically for elixir. Need to farm close to 1200000 elixir today so that I can upgrade barracks before our next war.
I have my trophy count around 995 right now.
Can someone explain how to barch best?
also, what are the best ways to effectively get massive amounts of elixir? I need this upgrade to start today.

How many is your maximum no. of troops do you have right now?
I would say go higher up in trophies to about 1000-1300. I found that to be the best range for collector raids. You can easily farm that much up there with BARCH.

Farm in silver 1, keep pressing next until you see a collector raid. Deploy your barbs and archers where the collectors are and get precious gold and elixir.

Yea get your army camps upgraded. It will make a huge difference in your ability to raid. And use barch with level 4 barbs and archers for best results. I fill half my camps up with barbs and the other half with archers and look for full collectors. Some use more archs than barbs, but it's effective as well.
You can also judge where the resources are by looking at the amount that can be looted. For example, if a base has say 95,000 in gold as well as 95,000 in elixir, its highly likely that it all is in the collectors/mines. If it's a weird number like 96,743 gold and 52,109 elixir, then it's likely in the storages. Another way to tell is to simply look at the mines/collectors. If the container on a collector is fully pink, then hit the collectors.

I have 4 barracks, 1 barrack trains all barbs and the rest all archers.. For a TH7 I recommend you to go all the way up to 1400-1500, there are decent loots up there
