Lab Upgrade Mystery

So as we all know , Upgrading the lab while a research is underway doesn't seem to pause the research, but instead the research continues. This is how it has worked since a recent upgrade, and I faced it myself when I moved to TH8 last November.


So.... I moved to TH9 last Tuesday, and began lab upgrade immediately. At that time, I had Pekkas upgrading to lvl 3, and it had exactly 5d left. My assumption was, when Lab finished, Pekka would finish too. Right??


Unfortunately, it appears the research neither finished, nor did it pause. Instead, it sorta semi went on, but at a yawning pace. My upgrade, at the moment of lab upgrade completion had 4d 3h left!!!

Can someone explain the weird math ♥♥♥♥ at work here?? Am pretty organized with this stuff, so am quite sure that I didn't misread the upgrade time left while starting lab upgrade. Heck, I sorta had it planned that way when I started Pekka 3!

Anyone else faced this recently? Kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Was saving up for Loons lvl 6 and now this happens. :(

Edit: Nvm, minutes later 4d 3h became 0 and my upgrade completed. Apparently its a timing bug.

Did you gem any time off your lab? Did you try to log out and log back in? Did you gem the time on your PEKKA before you had a chance to do the former?

I tried to logout and login now, and Lab went from 4d 3h remaining on Pekka to "Upgrade Completed: Pekka Lvl 3".

Hmm, Thanks. That was some very weird behavior. I was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ I nearly gemmed the remaining time. Phew.

Yes that's part of the glitch, you have to reset for it to register.

Yep Supercell made it Super easy for the new players xD

NP bud. I was so frustrated that I just gemmed the remaining time and learned the hard way. Glad it worked out for you.

I always thought that the upgrade would be paused and resumed. This seems strange. If I knew that I would not have wasted 6 days of lab upgrade time.

I upgraded my lab to level 8 while valk was upgrading with 6 days left. When finished it showed the time remaining on the valk as if it paused. I went and droped a troop on the goblins, came back and the upgrade was finished.
