Trapped Town Hall is Worse than Zapping

In all fairness, it is pretty hilarious watching some replays of people failing on a trapped TH.

I've done it a few times for kicks, even watched a person expend all rage/ drags, and probably a 300K+ army just to get my TH.

They try to raid the rest of my base, but are usually unsuccessful, which is even more amusing. If they zap that's fine. Spend 60K+ on zaps to maybe get 1,200 which my max lvl drills more than make up for. Also, enjoy being 100% revenged in return if you zap ;).

...But agreed on the basic premise.

TH trapping is basically a troll move. By trapping it you are removing some key defenses that would otherwise be protecting your loot better, just to attempt to spoil someone's raid. It also can cost the trapper quite abit of resources if they are using traps/bombs that will need to be rearmed after every raid.

An exposed TH is usually taken regardless of the defenses/traps surrounding it so you still dont' win many defenses.

What it does do is ♥♥♥♥ people off though, which is exactly what the trapper is intending to do. In that regard, it is successful.

For one, the attacker probably would have just taken the TH and nothing more. But now that you trapped it, many attackers are going to go for much more. Personally, I will try to trigger the clan castle. If anything is in it, it's now empty and you'll need to get more. I'll go for as much of the storages as I can get, even if it means using lightning spells to zap (I don't ever zap otherwise). And it means I will target your heroes, making them go for a nap, which makes them unavailable if you were planning to come back online.

Keep in mind that an exposed TH near walls and near visible defenses is not trapping. That's fine, I get that. I don't really understand your base layout so much, but I understand you are actively defending it. It's when there is nothing for at least 6-7 tiles near your base except for teslas and skeletons and spring traps that you're trapping it.

Feel free to keep doing it. It's part of the game. But in the long run, you'll come out behind.

whem i am low on loot i put two telas next to my th, when anyone snipes it an tries to scarf 2000 loot i want to make them pay. When i have loot i move teslas back inside

I agree. If they are going to use traps to protect their town hall, the rest of base has absolutely no traps. Easy 2/3 star.

I've come across a few TH10s in crystal II that have obviously trapped their townhall, it's surprising how level 6 GARCH can tear down a base when it's teslas and giant bombs are out of the equation.

I hated trapped bases when pushing to masters.. they killed my poor heroes health. Now I always test with a barb.

Why do people care so much if anyone traps their exposed town halls? Its all part of the game. Just keep raging on your threads about it, I'll be playing the game and taking your loot... :p

A few weeks ago, I put my village with trapped TH (mainly 4 tesla's and 2 skeleton traps). That day was reloading traps, clearing map and breaking shield only for fun. (was offering 80k combined resources and 200 DE, so nothing to lose)

Was fun seeing some replays. Mostly I lose and had to use 20k gold to rearm skeleton traps, but had some wins of players that was TH Snipping with 30 troops, and a ton of hero kills.

I really prefer that anyone snipe my TH and give me a shield, everyone win.

And agree with most, if I see a trapped TH, unless they are completely dry on resources, I go all-out from opponent side to wipe his base.

I like trapped THs in a corner. I use to flatten everyting else, just leave the TH and 4 teslas. It's easier to raid a base without teslas defending.

This guy's got it. The only reason for trapping is pissing the attacker off and making some funny replays.

Someone was obviously successful at doing this to the OP.

im virtually maxed th9 and trap my th with quad tesla and 2 small bombs. why? nothing funnier than watching kids use a full army just for a snipe. i dont usually get sniped in gold so it means less troops a strong attacker has to use against my storages. cc cant be easily lured and heroes are buried. wanna zap me go ahead might lose 1-2k which my protected drills will recoup 😄. queen can snipe my th without triggering my quad but only clever cookies recognise this. i can relate to some extent that a snipe should be a safe snipe but it can also make people brave and chance your loot. give them a beating over 1* and there gunna think twice about going for broke.
