Trapped Town Hall is Worse than Zapping

Zapping storages is bad enough. It's part of the game for now, so fine. Trapping a Town Hall is part of the game too but can I just say, it's not really a good idea to do it. If you're looking for some wins, drop your trophies way down and protect your TH well. You'll get wins that way. But trapping your TH just means that in the long run, you're going to lose a lot more than you would if you either a) leave your TH exposed for an easy snipe or, b) center your TH and protect it well.

The exposed town hall is a bit of an unspoken agreement. The base owner is looking for a cheap and easy shield. Leave the TH out, get it destroyed, 12 hour shield only costing 1,000 elixir and gold each. The attacker gets a few trophies and 2k loot.

But if you're going to trap your TH, which usually means making it look like it is out for easy sniping and it looks like you want the shield but in reality it is surrounded by teslas, you're just going to get hurt. For one, the attacker probably would have just taken the TH and nothing more. But now that you trapped it, many attackers are going to go for much more. Personally, I will try to trigger the clan castle. If anything is in it, it's now empty and you'll need to get more. I'll go for as much of the storages as I can get, even if it means using lightning spells to zap (I don't ever zap otherwise). And it means I will target your heroes, making them go for a nap, which makes them unavailable if you were planning to come back online.

Keep in mind that an exposed TH near walls and near visible defenses is not trapping. That's fine, I get that. I don't really understand your base layout so much, but I understand you are actively defending it. It's when there is nothing for at least 6-7 tiles near your base except for teslas and skeletons and spring traps that you're trapping it.

Feel free to keep doing it. It's part of the game. But in the long run, you'll come out behind.

I totally agree about the futility of trapping your TH. I always steal as much loot as I can from a trapped TH base as I know there will be no or less teslas and traps protecting the loot.

Other than for a cheap laugh, or maybe some trophies which shouldn't be an issue if you're farming, I see no reason to trap your TH.

The only time i ever zap de is when i run into a th trap. In my opinion if u want to be a jackass so can i. What's worse is with all these popular youtubers doing the trap th videos im starting to see even more of them.

I love running into trapped TH's. As soon as I see a tesla or giant bomb pop up. I focus my attacks on the opposite side of the base and usually get enough loot in return to make me satisfied.

I agree with you. It ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me off when I see a TH that has TH Traps.

Normally what I do: Zap the DE + trigger traps + left, take the trophy lost.
Or I go all out attack him.

But... I also traps my TH.

Why? I'm confidence that my Defense is strong enough to defense my resources. So I don't care for cheap shield. And... it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ people off. Sometime it's really fun. Give me a good laugh when I saw people try and fail. Or their heroes die, or something like that. Yeah, I'm an ♥♥♥ :))

But, well, I don't even hide the fact that my TH is a trap. I give obvious sight:
- I left the grave around my TH. People would see that their troops get shoot down if they drop it there.
- Mortar and Archer Tower right behind the TH inside the wall.

It's creaming that this TH is trap. Take it if you can. But it's not free. It's not my fault people don't analyze the base enough.

Lol, very funny.

Just a few days back i came across a trapped TH. I was carrying lvl6 barch and lvl 10 king/queen. Obviously, i got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and was going to surrender when i saw that it was a TH8 with full storages. I was getting upto 230k gold/elixir from it.
I went for it and took all the loot from its storages plus the 1.2k DE. :cool:

Yesterday found a TH8 who uses the Golden Planet base design and also trapped his TH. As soon as I put down my archer to snipe, a GB exploded and 2 teslas spring out. Put around 4 more troops to trigger the remaining traps around the trapped TH.

Knowing the Golden Planet layout well, didn't take much effort to get those 250K+ loot and around 1.3k DE.

That's what you get for trapping your TH, I will destroy you. (Or zap if you're too strong for me to raid :rolleyes:)

Its part of the game mate I get zapped 4/5 defenses with no 'trapped townhall' I dont complain about the zappers dont complain about how people run their base. ;)
