I'm honestly one of those people that thinks X-bows are kinda overrated. If anything I find the good thing about them to be their HP.
I'm in a serious war clan and I'm wondering if when I reach TH9 in a week I should make xbows immediately or wait a while until I catch other new defenses up a bit first.
Thoughts?
then wait a little for the next one. Without your x-bow, you might as well be a th8 with a few new walls and a new AT.
Yeah I rushed th9 for xbows... Huge mistake! They are another defense but they are very overrated
you could compute for it's efficacy
in 7d, you'll have a 1.5k hp structure with 50dps
compare it with other defenses
If you are a war clan, absolutely do not build your xbows. I'm waiting until I have max loons and hogs to build xbows.
I have one xbow to lvl3 and my other one should be lvl3 within *i think* 7 more days
They help against farming, they help defend my DE, but overall, i think they are a must, but they are overated
lvl2 xbow deals less dps than a lvl10 archer tower.
but the high hp are a bonus.
any extra building they need to destroy to get 100% is a bonus.
Infernos are overrated.
I got two lv3 xbows in five weeks after I reached th9. To be honest. It's only good about its range and hit points . Everything else i like tesla more which deals more dps and doesn't waste ammo.Quote:

Bows affect matchmaking if you got two fresh th9's one with bows one without the one without is basically a th8. I've seen a lot of th9's ranked lower then th8's in wars because they rushed and had no bows weak walls they pay better then a th8 though thats for sure.
every defence counts. even walls. i had a bunch of wars which i think was very unfairly matchup. we have better walls . mainly lego and lava. they had mainly skull and lego. we had a single th10. they had 4. we had 4 th7 and they have all th8 and above.Quote:

Just from stats they aren't great, but they do hold tremendous value. They intimidate many lower players to stick to a snipe, which'll greatly benefit your loot-holding ability. Plus, the range lets them deal lots of damage before taking any themselves, also a huge asset. So definitely get em quickly because they hold a lot of value.Quote:

Apples to oranges comparing them to ATs. Xbows have longer range. This means you usually center them in base for defense. They hit WAY more units because of range and the fact that they are centered. One xbow is probably worth 2 ATs for that reason alone. Xbows also kill queens better than any other defensive structure.
Then there's the high hit points. When placed next to teslas the teslas get a few more hits while troops are working on bows. In war they help dissuade lavaloonion when pointed up. I personally don't know why you'd wait.

The rate of fire for them is also very good. Since they fire so many shots in a second they wipe out troops more efficiently and move on to the next troop
TH9 in 8 days. I will delegate 1 builder to build and upgrade the two available xbows. Can't wait ;)
yes it does affect the matching
I was maxed Th8 bar goblins before I went up. I made sure I had 6m gold for two xbows the second I went to TH9. Great for defense against barching, hogs and air attacks. They are not the be all and end all but part of a solid defense.
